Does exactly what it says and looks good doing it.

There is one minor quibble however.

The cells provided do in fact provide a continuous 1.5v which sounds great, until you realise battery level indicators in most devices work by measuring the decline in voltage over time, so most devices that report remaining battery life will read 100% right up until they suddenly fail when the cells go flat instead of noticeably warning you ahead of time.

Small quibble yes, but worth knowing if you rely on remaining life indicators in your devices

Four rechargeable batteries with a metal charging box for what is now £20, reduced from £30 when ordering is now more realistic price wise.

The batteries seem good quality as does the charge box. The box is well made and would pack well amongst other kit inside a camera bag or whatever as it is so solid.

The box shows four lights on the top to show charge status, where blinking means charging and solid for charged.
Simple but effective.

A great idea to have four batteries in a solid well made charge box, so I recommend this battery set.
At least at this reduced price.

Over the years (I'm 64), I've had many battery chargers. But none like this.

All have had no covers protecting the batteries from prying fingers, or flimsy plastic covers that soon snap off. This looks to be a very welcome exception. Solidly built, with a lid that has a pleasing click when it shuts tightly.

The case just feels as though you could drop it from six feet and it would survive unscathed and intact. (But I wouldn't recommend it!) The case just oozes quality.

On arrival, I fully charged the four 3600 mAh batteries that came with the charger, which took about 90 minutes. Out of interest, the highest storage capacity for an AA battery I've previously seen is 2800mAH, so I'll be interested to see how these run-in various devices.

The fact that you can charge just one AA battery instead of 2, 3 or 4 at the same time is a huge bonus. (This isn't a feature you find on many battery chargers.)

The charger will recognise that you have mistakenly placed a faulty NI-MH or a standard, non-rechargeable battery in one or more chambers, and will not attempt to charge those batteries.

The only downside to the charger is that it's unable to charge AAA batteries.

That aside, it is in my opinion a 6* charger and worth every penny.

The 1 annoying thing about rechargeable batteries is that they need a charger, not all chargers are built the same so it takes a long time to get them full. This set solves that, not only are they lithium batteries they and high capacity and charge fast in their own storage box, just use an mobile phone usb-c charger and you golden.

This looks to be a good idea for those who want a quick and easy way of transporting and charging 4 AA batteries vis a supplied USB C to USB lead into your own 5V 2A charger.

What I found really confusing was the ratings for the battery capacities.
On the batteries themselves is 3600mWh where usually I had found batteries are rated in mAh, so the conversion at 1.5V makes these batteries just 2400mAh so not really high rating for capacity. But they are 1.5 volt, more on that later.

Move on to the paper instructions and they rate the batteries at 350mA x 4.

The sales page gives details like the battery weight at 76grams then the capacity of just 1000mAh which is very low.

The charge time is given at 3hrs which is quite quick for high capacity AA rechargeables.

Now usually rechargeable batteries are 1.2V x 4 = 5V which makes them less useful in some kit that needs to see 6volts from 4 installed batteries. These are 1.5V per battery so x 4 will give the required 6V for things that need to see 6 volts.

This proved good for my trail camera's which consume batteries quite quickly, newly charged 1.2v AA batteries will show only 80% charge in the trail camera's as the camera is looking for 6 Volts. These rechargeables do have 6V so the camera reports 100% charge.

The charger has 4 led's that flash green when charging and go constant on when the batteries are charged, the instructions suggest that the charger will even charge batteries that are at zero volts, most chargers will not do this as the battery is considered none recoverable by the majority of chargers when at zero volts.

As a Test I tried to charge 4 x ��غ�� 2400mAh NiMH AA batteries which were at around half charge already and this charger refused to charge them showing 4 red flashing LED's which means incompatible batteries.
I would also suggest that the 4 supplied Lithium Ion batteries should only be recharged in the supplied charger.

As the batteries take 4 or more recharges to reach full capacity I cant yet say if they are high, medium or low capacity, the numbers they give are just plain confusing.

This pack was £19.99 at review time but did have a 20% voucher so £16 for four batteries and a carry pack/charger which if the capacity is good is a price I wouldn't mind paying for my field camera battery packs.

This is the nicest battery charger i've seen, sure it doesn't have wide compatibility and it can only do AA's but boy is it tidy.
Just a shame about the spelling mistake on the product page, 'charing storage box', i should deduct a star.
Operation is very comfortable, one also doesn't need to worry about using the wrong batteries because it does have warning lights.
The lid flips shut with magnetic assistance the build quality is firm, nothing wobbles (except the batteries a teeny tiny bit, which is normal)
I expect this to last a very long time, it's far easier to store than any other charger i have ever seen.
