Honestly, some of the basic comments in the reviews…

“It’s blu ray and not DVD…” I mean it’s 2022 soooooo yeah.
“There’s too much talking between songs…” well don’t listen to live music then?
“You can’t hear the audience participation” Well you just can? Just not overpowering. It’s not the most prominent mix of audience participation but you can definitely hear them.

This CD and Blu Ray not only gives an amazing insight into the band behind the scenes, but also humanises them and brings us closer to them. It’s a great collection of songs new and old, with a truly moving performance of Things My Father Said.

I’ve got tickets to see them in Leeds in Feb and this has whet my appetite- I can’t wait.

Buy this! It won’t disappoint!

Black Stone Cherry ist eine Band, die ich sehr gerne höre. Gegründet in der Kleinstadt Edmonton in Kentucky, hört man die Southern- und Blueseinflüsse deutlich heraus. Trotzdem würde ich die Musik eher als Hard Rock betrachten. Das Ganze klingt aber überhaupt nicht altbacken, sondern hat einen aktuellen Anstrich im Sound. Im September 2021 nutze die Band die Chance die erste Tournee während der Pandemie in Großbritannien zu spielen. Die Band hat dort eine treue und größere Fan-Base. Gleichzeitig erfüllte man sich einen Traum und bekam die Möglichkeit in der ehrwürdigen Royal Albert Hall zu spielen. Dementsprechend haute sich die Band an diesem Abend voll rein (ok, das tut sie eigentlich immer) und rockte den Saal. Man bekommt also ein Hörerlebnis, da die Band voller Leidenschaft eine tolle Setlist spielt, und außerdem ein visuelles Erlebnis, da die Location einfacht toll ist. Das Ganze wurde auf der Blue-Ray in Bild und Ton super eingefangen. Highlight für mich der hochemotionale Moment, als Sänger Chris Robertson allein mit Gitarre den Song "Things my father said" singt und spielt. Sein Vater war kurz vor der Tour verstorben und man spürt seine Trauer sehr deutlich, und er überträgt diese Stimmung auch auf das Pulikum. Ein magischer, emotionaler Moment, der sehr berührt. Insgesamt also eine klare Kaufempfehlung. Freue mich schon sehr auf die Tour im September.
