I've been having trouble with all the small printing on things lately, even with my glasses, unnecessarily small print on food packaging and the like, so I got this because it seemed like a good size.
It's incredibly light even with the batteries in the handle. the LEDS are nice and bright and with the three settings it's easily adjustable to different ambient light levels. I will be honest and say that the Fresnel lens takes some getting used to and getting the correct distance between face, lens and text is occasionally slightly disorienting, but once you've hit the spot it's a perfect tool. all that pesky miniature information on labels is now within my comprehension, no more misreading 3's as 8's or 5's as 2's etc. This is a greet tool to have and given the size of the lens will probably encourage me to start reading more books as well. it's also nice and flat which is excellent for packing into a rucksack or laptop bag if you happen to be studying as a mature student or whatever.
