This is a beast of a speaker for its size! Small but punchy with clear sound.

It has only a few buttons on top, the Bluetooth and knob in the middle that controls volume, next track, on / off etc.

The battery indicator is very handy and with ~30 hours of playtime you’ll forget to charge it :)

The ‘stereophonic’ feature does work, as it allows sound to be distributed in the room with clarity; you can basically hear good sound from all around the speaker. Very handy for parties and such, you put it on the table and it fills the room.

Connectivity is great and stable. I connected with iPhone and also a turn table, no issues whatsoever.

And you don’t need a wifi for it to work, it’s ready out of the box!

If you download the Marshall app, it allows for three equalizer options, I prefer the default Marshall sound to be honest.

Overall great little portable speaker, district only in size!

I think Marshall is now (Aug 2024) releasing a newer version of the Emberton, but honestly if you are on a slight budget, this is an amazing option. You won’t regret getting this.

Positives

Place the speaker a metre to the side of you and sound appears to come from the front and side due to its emersive features. It's a totally different experience to a directional speaker.

Large sound for such a tiny speaker. Sound itself lacked a bit of warmth and appeared artificial. I was a bit disappointed in sound quality however the immersive feel helps to balance this issue.

Solid and light, can be dropped and still works. Small weight and size makes it very portable.

If you just use it for listening to music then it's fine but not great for video.

Bass is reasonably good for music/video. I would give it a 7.5 out of 10. It's clearly louder than the mids and highs, so this isn't a neutral sound.

Negatives

Speaker repeatedly dropped out of sync after an 1 hour+ with lips so wasn't good for watching video.

Limited codecs and bluetooth 5.1 may be the cause for being out of sync.

Battery lasted 13 hours on 30% volume, so nowhere near the advertised 30 hours.

Overall

The negatives affected my overall enjoyment so I had to return the speaker.

The new Marshall Emberton 3 with Bluetooth 5.3 should help to improve the lip sync issues and with Bluetooth LE the battery might last longer. I would consider purchasing that model.

Je kunt het geluid nog een beetje tunen en wat helderder maken met een equilizer zoals 'soundid' voor Spotify. Accuduur is een groot pluspunt. Doet niet onder voor veel grotere Bluetooth speakers. Deze viel bij mij vooral in de smaak vanwege het lagere frequentie bereik.

2. Akku & Ladezeit:
Tatsächlich hält der Akku bei mir ca.26-30 Stunden. Es variiert je nach Nutzung! Die Ladezeit mit ca. 3 Stunden ist sehr zügig.

3. Sound & Stabilität:
Die Box hat einen 360 Grad Sound, welchen man auch bemerkt. Ich empfinde die ordentlich laut, sprich bei nicht mal der Hälfte der Lautstärke gibt es schon gutes für Ohren. Die Box hat ordentlich Bass. Ich finde es gut, ist aber auch Geschmacksache.

Die bluetooth Qualität ist sehr gut, es ist sehr schnell verbunden und hat keine Abbrüche.

4. Größe & Outdoor:
