This doesn't come with any sort of instructions, and it took me a while to figure out how to get it to clip onto my controller as I was worried it was going to break. The secret is to attach the top part (nearest the XBox Button) first, and then push the bottom up and under. Trying to do it the other way is an exercise in frustration.

Once it's on, it works well - the two points of adjustment help you get the perfect angle for your own particular preferences, and it feels fairly solid. The grip on the phone itself is a little weak, though - it's fine for sitting still and gaming normally, but if you're a "fling the controller around wildly" type, you might find it a bit less grip than you need.

In general this item is brilliant with lots of adjustment for multiple angles so would recommend as can also fold up nicely.

But...
The reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because it does have a tendency to catch the sync button which can be a pain, so do keep that in mind, if they was to make a newer version I'd suggest a cut out for the sync button, this is only a minor fault that happens every now and then but is worth noting.

The build feels a bit brittle. Fit onto the controller (Xbox elite series 1) just fine. The hinge mechanisms, no matter how much I tightened them down, still had some wobble to them when the phone was added. I have an iPhone 16 pro with a super slim case. The clamp extended enough to grab onto it, however, it didn’t seem to like the weight of the phone and felt like it would slip out with little movement. Returned and will try a different mount.
