Video instructions are clear and works on Windows 10, follow the video you should be fine.
Once you have set it up and don't unplug it you can connect the controller easily.

I bought this adapter for my daughter to connect an Xbox 360 controller to their PC - it is useless! They tried everything to get it to work; the suggestions on the listing, on YouTube, the suggestions in the reviews, still it wouldn't connect. They were connecting from a distance of about 60 cm, so there was no reason that it shouldn't have connected. Complete waste of money. The reason I gave one star (I would have given zero otherwise, if I could) is because the refund process was easy and straightforward. Otherwise, I really cannot recommend this at all!

Playing on pc, I'm never at a range to notice any drop in quality so hopefully another reviewer has or will comment on that, from my perspective it works fine, its definitely a receiver for Xbox 360 controllers however this is pretty much price gouging, they aren't limited stock official Microsoft products they are generic yet they are charging more than even Microsoft did way back when.

I hate to support this company by buying one but I had no other choice really without placing a bid for a used unit on eBay and hoping I don't get sniped.

Hopefully leaving a less than thrilled review will settle me and my thinner wallet but I doubt it. Weigh it up for yourselves guys :)

I still have my old guitar from the heady days of playing Guitar Hero on Xbox 360 with my family. After reading about people managing to get the games working on PC along with Clone Hero, I figured I'd try this.

The device is just a small black box connected to your PC via the attached USB cable. Once I'd set up the drivers for Windows 10 (see below), I connected the guitar and loaded Clone Hero. Everything just worked and within five minutes of connecting this receiver I was playing.

I know from reading comments online that some people have had issues with lag when playing Clone Hero with a wireless controller like the guitar I have. However, I had no problems with this at all. Clone Hero does have settings you can tweak to mitigate this.

In terms of trying to get the original Guitar Hero games working, I haven't yet tried. Clone Hero is a native Windows app and so doesn't require any kind of emulation to work.

In terms of the hardware and performance, I cannot fault this little device. Once the drivers were set up, it just worked without any further need of configuration.

If you use Windows 10 and want to use this, here's how I got it working. It takes less than two minutes:

The drivers for this should be already available in Windows.
Plug the receiver into a USB port.
Open Control Panel.
Open Device Manager.
Look down the list for 'Other Devices', 'Unknown Device' or similar. It will be the one with a yellow triangle icon against it.
Right click this entry and select 'Update Driver'.
Select 'Browse my computers for drivers'.
Then select 'Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer'.
You should then see a list of Xbox 360 devices. Select the one labelled 'Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows' and click 'Next'.
You'll then get a warning popup about installing unverified drivers. Click 'Yes'.
The drivers should then install and you're good to go.

I got this to hook up my Beatles Rockband wireless drums to my PC to play ‘Yet Another Rhythm Game”, aka, YARG. I followed the suggestions in the comments on the product reviews, and it worked. Had to go into device manager and switch it over to xbox360 controller.
Once my drums were connected to my PC, I headed on over to GitHub and downloaded RB4instrumentmapper. Follow the setup instructions on the GitHub page and run that program in the background while launching YARG. I am now able to use my old rockband drums on PC without any problems. Granted, it’s day one, but already much easier than I anticipated.

I haven’t tried to hook a normal 360 controller up, so I can’t help with that. Just dropping in to let people know it works for YARG. Next up, the new Riffmaster guitar!
