I'm not one to leave reviews normally, good or bad, too lazy I guess. However, I am stunned by the value of this knife and absolutely motivated to do what I usually wouldn't - write a reveiw!

When I came across this product while searching for a knife to tackle a wallpapering job I was sceptical of the reviews and the description, I couldn't be sure it woud look and sound that good for that price. But I decided to go for it, in fact I ordered two just because it was such a good price.

Having now received it and seen for myself the quality of this knife I can't understand why it's not three or four times the price. It looks and feels like a really well engineered piece of work, feels great in your hand, sturdy, strong and scalple sharp. The old plastic knife I'm replacing looks flimsy in comparison and yet is being sold on Anazon for a higher price. Obviously you're reading this because you need a craft/diy knife, do yourself a favour, stop looking and just buy this one!

For many years now I've used craft knives from the packs you can buy in the cheapo Chinese shops. They're very sharp the first time you use them and tend to break as soon as you expect them to do some more strenuous cutting. You know what I mean and I'm sure many have been there. I thought I'd look for something a bit more substantial and came across this Mercury Aluminium Craft Knife. As soon as you take it out of the packet and hold it in your hand you realise it is a far superior bit of kit. It feels substantial and very comfortable in your hand. The blades are incredibly sharp and you need to exercise a great deal of care when using it. It comes with 10 extra blades and hopefully will last long enough for them to be used. I liked it so much I bought another straight away. At the price I paid £3.99 they are an absolute bargain.

I rarely write reviews for the products that I buy but I thought that I’d make another exception here. I sell a lot of items on-line but often end up making my own boxes, particularly for books. Generally, a cheap shop-bought craft knife lasts me a year before it falls apart and I’m slowly building up an excess of blades.

I was drawn to this item by its component parts (mostly aluminium) and the other reviews: the 5-stars are richly deserved. On appearance and first use, it’s clear that this knife is a cut above. It’s sturdy, perfectly shaped and lightweight, yet costs only fractionally more than what you might pay for a comparable plastic knife in the local hardware shop. If you’re thinking of buying such a craft knife for the first time, then I highly recommend this one.
