Having a low (7ft) ceiling in my roof, where my "gym" is, certain exercises can't be done on my weight bench. The main exercise I absoulutely HATE - uh, I mean love - is the weighted single-leg reverse lunge to step up. This is as programmed by BB's BodyBeast.
I had to skip this exercise - as I couldn't execute it with good form. Now, with this stepper (on Level 4 of 5), I can perform it again. DOMS - we meet again; but that's good, right!?
Positioning my weights bench diagonally onto this stepper (unsafe?) and using a heavy-duty box, I can raise my bench. This high, I can perform "strict" dumbell bent-over rows. This allows full stretch reflex at the bottom of the rep. It also protects the lower back. Try it - but you're advised to try half your normal weight - as the lats are now isolated for this move.
The stepper slots away nicely in a corner, when not in use. I went for black; I verged on going orange, but... just... couldn't... quite... ;-)
