Product description
Courgette is a summer squash, a vining herbaceous plant whose fruit are harvested when their immature seeds and epicarp are still soft and edible. It is closely related, but not identical, to the marrow. Its fruit may be called marrow when mature. It's one of the most popular vegetables in the squash family, being extremely versatile, tender and easy to cook. Courgette can be eaten raw, either shaved into ribbons or finely sliced into a salad – they're delicious dressed simply with chilli, chopped mint, lemon and extra virgin olive oil. You can saute, roast, grill or barbecue courgettes, or add them to cakes for a sweet treat.
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on غ. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I ordered a Morrison’s Loose Courgette to use in a healthy stir-fry. Simple, right? But little did I know, this courgette had other plans.
The trouble started when I put it on the kitchen counter. I turned my back for a moment to grab the chopping board, and when I returned, it was gone. I assumed my wife had swiped it for one of her salads (or one of her mysterious “projects”), but hours later, it reappeared—upstairs. On the nightstand.
At first, I thought I was imagining things, but over the next few days, the courgette showed a curious ability to relocate itself. One minute it was in the fruit bowl, the next, it was on the bathroom shelf, as if it had taken a wrong turn on the way to the kitchen. My wife denied moving it, but the smirk she gave me said otherwise.
Review:
Pros: 1. Fresh and Versatile: The courgette itself was top quality—firm, green, and perfect for roasting, frying, or (theoretically) teleporting. 2. Good Size: Not too big, not too small—ideal for a single dish or, apparently, a cross-house adventure. 3. Healthy and Affordable: A budget-friendly way to add some veggies to your meals, assuming it stays where you leave it.
Cons: 1. Mysterious Mobility: If you’re not careful, this courgette might end up living rent-free in your upstairs hallway. 2. Wife Magnet: Highly appealing to partners with a flair for pranks—or creative culinary ideas. 3. Unexplained Behavior: No clear instructions for dealing with self-relocating produce.
Unexpected Adventures:
Eventually, I caught my wife in the act, sneaking the courgette from the kitchen with a guilty laugh. “You weren’t going to use it tonight, were you?” she said, holding it like a prize. What she wanted with it upstairs remains a mystery, but let’s just say the courgette was “resting” on the window ledge for most of the evening.
By the time I reclaimed it, the courgette felt less like an ingredient and more like a guest in our home. When I finally chopped it for dinner (a delicious veggie bake, by the way), I half-expected it to reappear on the sofa during dessert.
Final Thoughts:
The Morrison’s Loose Courgette is fresh, versatile, and delicious, but it seems to come with a side of household intrigue. Whether it’s due to a mischievous spouse or its own mysterious powers, this courgette kept us on our toes before finally making its way to the frying pan.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely, with one caveat: keep an eye on it. 9/10—for quality, flavor, and the unexpected entertainment of trying to keep it in the kitchen. Bonus tip: If your courgette starts disappearing, check upstairs—or ask your wife what she’s plotting!
I have used the Morrison’s courgette with a chicken pasta dish. I removed the peel from the courgette and then sliced it into ribbons. Then I dipped the ribbons of the courgette into a beaten egg and left them for approximately 5 minutes whilst turning them, making sure they was fully covered in egg before moving to the next stage. Then I dipped them into matzo meal making sure once again they was fully covered, then fried them in vegetable oil till they were a golden colour. These added a delicious taste and texture to the chicken pasta which had spicy chorizo, mixed chopped peppers, onions, mushroom that was all cooked in garlic and dressed with Hellmann’s mayonnaise.
the price should be 'per kilo' and each courgette weighed - like it is 'in store' - totally bizarre situation.. this happens a lot with 'loose' items - these and onions etc; after 3 years surely someone in Morrisons or غ should collaborate and sort it out - totally fed up of leaving 'unread' comments on the delivery page!! dont get me started on the 'corn fed whole chicken' at £6.99 - which you cannot add to your basket - as it is also per kilo - so the item says ' sorry not able to add'
