Product description
Four times BRIT nominated, RAYE is one of the most streamed artists in the world with over 2.3 billion streams of her music. She has a double-platinum, four platinum, two gold and three silver singles to her name. She is also indisputably one of the UK's premier songwriters. Her songs have amassed over 3 billion streams, having written for some of the world’s biggest artists including: John Legend, Ellie Goulding, Khalid, David Guetta, Diplo, and Beyonce. In 2019 she was awarded The BMI Impact Award in recognition of her 'ground-breaking artistry, creative vision and impact on the future of music, in 2022 she was nominated for the Ivor’s Songwriter of the year, landed R1 Brits List and made her debut solo TV performance on Jools Holland.
During the summer of 2021, her cries of frustration for not being able to release her album were heard worldwide, leading to a mutual separation from her label and allowing her to carve her own path. Having made her public tirade, followed by her personal 'declaration of independence', Raye in effect has obligated herself to deliver the ground-breaking first album that her 2019 BMI award prophesied. In 2023, RAYE will release My 21st Century Blues. This is RAYE part two. It's RAYE on her own terms. It's the RAYE of old, but reloaded. These are songs made by RAYE, for RAYE, but within that they're for everyone who has faced and overcome adversity. They're also anthems for other women in the industry, or stuck in a cycle of misogyny.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 November 2024Incredible album but an early covert so decided to get old Skool and bought it on Vinyl and love it ….
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 August 2024Can't stop listening to this over and over. Just about the best recent album I've ever heard. Raye is not to be underestimated and this album shows her off at her very best. She claims to have no particular genre but if she's anything, she's a Jazz babe and much more stylish, real and talented than Amy Winehouse who was a complete mess live. Raye CAN do the live thing and is realer than real - an absolute superstar who can adapt effortlessly to different genres, sometimes within the same song. Buy it - NOW!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 October 2024Arrived in good quality
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 April 2024Raye's music is amazing. I've been listening to her music for years. She's such a talented songwriter and singer who had written brilliant music for other singers; you can hear her heart and soul in the songs she writes and sings. I'm so glad that she is finally getting the recognition she's deserved for so long.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 October 2024Great sound, highly recommend!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 July 2024If you're going to buy this I suggest you try listening to her Royal Albert Hall concert. The recording is available to buy from Raye's own website, I don't know anywhere else. I have both but now mostly listen to the live version with full symphony orchestra and gospel choir.
This doesn't detract from the studio album, but if you're only getting one I'd advise you to give them both a hearing to avoid any fomo.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 July 2024Don’t know why I took so long to buy this, but what an album. You already know most of the tracks I’m sure, but every song is a story, Raye has seen stuff in her life and tells us everything. I might be odd, but I really liked the intro and her sign off at the end, a nice touch.
