    I've always loved opera and new-age opera. Of course Luciano Pavarotti is incredible! But I also adore Sarah Brightman! So many more names but those are my favs! I recently discovered Jonas Kaufmann and wow! I love him too. I have always heard little bits of Mariah Callas. Never a fan. Thought her voice was harsh and grating. Then I heard old duets or movies with her voice in snippets and so many opera lovers that rave her! So I thought, I will give this lady a chance! I found this 3 CD set and I am AMAZED! I read the description of how it is remade taking away the harsh old fashioned recording sounds and it is SO true! I can't get enough of her now! The Gypsy Song is incredible! (No# 12, 3rd CD) The more I listen to all 3 CD's the more I can't get enough of her voice. Oh, if I had a Genie lamp I would love to go to one of her opera's!

    Diese CD-Kollektion bietet einen guten Überblick über die fantastische, aber so erstaunlich kurze Karriere von Maria Callas. Sie zeigt aber auch den allmählichen Niedergang ihrer Stimme und die von manchen Kritikern beschriebene Schrille in ihren Höhen. Letzteres hatte ich vor Anschaffung dieser CDs nicht akzeptiert (hatte sie jedoch nie live erlebt). Hier ist es zu hören.
