Improve your recording device's image quality, including the enhancement of colour and contrast levels to capture high resolutions for number plate details.
REDUCE WINDSCREEN GLARE AND REFLECTION: In bright sunlight, camera filters will reduce glare and reduce bright contrast levels to help capture important number plate detail. When you are recording videos through the glass of a windscreen, you will often notice the reflections of heating vents and other parts of the car on some recordings. To reduce this effect, the Nextbase Polarising Filter is able to remove all windscreen reflection and just capture the events in front of you.
EASY LENS FILTER INSTALLATION: Simply attach this polarising filter to the front of your dash camera to reduce windscreen glare and reflection. In bright sunlight, it will also enhance the colour and contrast levels to help capture important number-plate detail. A dual lens dash cam will allow you to see things more clearly.
ADJUSTMENT BEZEL: The polariser filter has a rotating bezel, so you can setup the camera lens exactly how you need in your vehicle to maintain optimum clarity. The bezel plays a key role in dramatically reducing windscreen glare. This reflection-free lens is not suitable for the following models: 512GW, 522GW, 612GW, 622GW, 300W, 380GW and 380GWX.

Quite expensive little bit of framed cpl film but it works well ,easy to stick on and removes reflection items away from view for example if i put some paperwork on my works vans dashboard this reflection would show and obscure a lot of the intended field of view. But the filter removes almost all of the reflections showing full screen .. it is also quite good again for removing reflections on oncoming vehicles windscreens and you get a better chance of seeing the drivers face /actions e.g. mobile phone use / applying makeup / flipping the bird etc

This NextBase dashcam polarising filter makes a big difference to the quality of the videos. It reduces (but doesn't eliminate) reflections from the dashboard onto the windscreen that can make some of the image harder to view, particularly in bright sunshine, and it seems to add a little extra richness to the colour.

Installation is easy - remove from packaging, take the cover off the sticky pad and carefully place it over your dashcam lens. Once stuck on, you can slowly rotate the outer bezel to adjust the direction of the polarising effect. As others have suggested, the white paper on the dash trick makes it much easier to judge the best angle for the filter.

The only thing I dislike about this lens is that you have to pay nearly £20 for something that should have been included in the first place. In fact, NextBase have started fitting it as standard to the 522GW and up, so bear that in mind if you're thinking of buying a new NextBase dashcam. Picking a 422GW and then adding a polarising filter takes you to the price of the 522GW, which has a slightly larger touchscreen, so why not just buy the 522GW in the first place?

Bought this for new Nextbase 322GW as recommended to have one. Have very wide dashboard so paper test for setup not easy. Due to small screen on the 322GW found it difficult to adjust in real life conditions at night. Impossible to see best setting as car and street lights all appeared to glare wherever I set it. . If you have expertise with this type of gadget might help. Or the time to connect to computer and playback files to see if glare reduces at different settings. Product appeared sturdy and was easy to apply. Had firm adhesive.

Trust me … the dashcam will reflect your dashboard up into the image without a polarisation filter like this. It is ESSENTIAL you get this. I as a photographer know the advantages of CPL filters in reducing glare on water, glass, leaves etc. so when I heard that nextbase did a little filter for the dashcam I got the other day I was a little stupidly excited. I like my Nextbase 222 camera, and the glare and reflections are annoying and compromise the video quality. I think $29 is expensive for this CPL, but it does it's job very well. Sticks to the front of the camera with an adhesive ring, and an extra adhesive is included. The filter is either glass or very well made carbonate. The front ring is adjustable, as a proper polarizing filter should be. Stick it on and move your car to a spot where the reflections are strong and very visible. Then rotate the ring as needed to eliminate 95% of the reflections. Works very well and is recommended. Like most quality products; buy once, cry once. Don't buy cheap crap that underperforms and breaks easily. On many things in life, there is no cheap out. Buy the good product at the beginning.
