It may sound crazy but I needed a lamp to keep my young plants warm in my garage in winter and this has worked a treat. At only 175w max I can run this and keep the plants warm and happy for far less cost than a grow tent heater. It provides consistent and adjustable warmth, ensuring optimal temperature for my seedlings
It also includes an anti-fall waterproof lamp cover and overheating protection for added safety. Well-built and sturdy. Allows for easy adjustment of heat intensity based on the needs.
Good value for money given its features and performance.

Temperature Control: There is only a 2 position switch for temperature which appears top default at 175w but can run at around 1/2 that by using the 1 option. I assume that this would only use around half of the 175w rating which is great as the weather improves.
Overall:
The Nottac Heat Lamp is highly recommended for chicks or plants, providing a reliable and safe source of warmth during colder months.

I’ve been using the Nottac heat lamp for a few weeks now in my chicken coop, and it’s done a solid job keeping the chicks warm through these colder nights. The 175W bulb heats up quickly and covers a nice, wide area, which has made a noticeable difference for the birds. The adjustable height is a great feature, as I can easily tweak it to ensure the chicks aren’t getting too much heat or too little. The waterproof lampshade gives me peace of mind when the coop gets damp, and the build feels sturdy enough to handle daily use.

That said, I’ve docked a star because the chain could be a bit more robust. It works, but I’d prefer it felt a little stronger for long term use. Also, while it’s easy to set up, I found the cord a bit shorter than I’d like, which might mean an extension lead depending on your setup. Overall though, it’s a reliable lamp that does what it promises, and the overheating protection is a welcome safety feature. Perfect for anyone looking to keep their chickens, or even small pets, cosy in winter.

This poultry heat lamp seems a great deal at just under £26. It has a good length of chain as well as a decent length electric cable and has 2 different heat settings.
The lamp itself seems sturdy and robust. I have not used this with chicks but have used it with one of my elderly hens who had been feeling her age and starting to flag. She went downhill very quickly and I set her up in a nice, quiet, dry spot in the garage, with this heat lamp over her, so her last few days with us she was warm and as comfortable as possible.
I will use this again for any hen who might be under the weather, or for chicks when I buy hatching eggs in.
A really good quality heat lamp at a really great price.

I’ve got this heat lamp all set up, just waiting for my little feathered friends to arrive. First impressions? It seems like a solid piece of kit, and I’m pretty confident it’ll do the job. It’s got overheating protection built in, so I’m not worrying about things getting too hot for my chickens (or any small mammals I might have).

The lamp has two modes, which gives you control over the temperature – ideal for keeping things just right for your poultry. I am pleased with the results after using the lamp for a few days. Although it may not be as powerful as an electric heater. The lamp heats the surroundings effectively and that is great. My catch is better now

It has a decent length cable and a hanging chain for easy installation. The bulb is protected by a metal cover which provides some protection from light impacts. Overall, it does its job well. Very good value for money. I recommend it

I got this heat lamp to keep our hens comfortable during the colder months, and it’s been fairly decent. The heat warms up quickly, and the wide heating area makes sure everyone stays cosy, particularly at night. The adjustable height has been quite useful; I was able to lower it without trouble when our smallest chick seemed to need a bit of extra warmth. I also like the protective cover, it offers reassurance knowing that children occasionally wander into the garden, and it feels reasonably sturdy.

However, the chain does seem slightly flimsy, so I’m particularly careful when hanging it. It also took me a while to figure out which of the two settings suited their space best. For smaller creatures like guinea pigs or reptiles, it seems like it could work effectively in that kind of arrangement as well. Not perfect, but it does the job adequately for now.
