- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 July 2023These do work, but two recommedations.... firstly, if using a HDMI cable to connect your laptop to the TV - DONT use the TV sound that has come through the HDMI. It causes a delay and makes it seem like the mats dont work. Instead, select the speaker icon on your taskbar and set to the laptops own built in speakers, or connect the laptop headphone socket to your soundbar etc. BIG difference. The next recommendation for anyone more serious about DDR is to cut a piece of plywood to size and then iuse carpet tape to carefully stick the dance mat to it - this gives a much bigger difference in use and is closer to using a hard dance pad. It also makes them look way better too (see the picture, the one at the back has been modded this way). Hope this advice helps people!

Images in this review - Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 February 2024Going into buying this pad, I knew there would be downsides. Soft pads slip on the floor and aren’t as good for super fast play, I heard. I thought that was okay, because I’m basically a complete beginner, other than playing a handful of times at the arcade throughout my life. If I liked the game, I could get something better, but for now, a soft pad was fine.
Throughout owning this thing, though, it sometimes wouldn’t pick up where I stepped, but it was pretty random and could have been used error. However, today when I went to play, the right arrow wouldn’t activate if I had my other foot on the left arrow, or any other arrow for that sake. I restarted my computer multiple times, unplugged it and re-plugged it, jiggled the cable and mat around a bit, checked it wasn’t a software issue etc. Basically, it’s definitely the pad which has broken.
I didn’t expect this thing to last forever and I would have been happy with half a year of use or something, but just over a week is abysmal. It’s not like I abused it. I stored it nicely after every use too.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 January 2025So my daughter uses this every day pretty much. In fact she was ill recently and we could tell she was really not feeling herself because she didn't get the dance mat out! One thing to mention though is that it will break with enough use. Every flexible dance mat will. The reason is because of how they work inside. I opened it up to see if I could fix it. Inside the mat there's a sandwich of two sheets of thin, clear crinkly plastic, separated by a thin spongy foam sheet between them. The plastic sheets have what looks like conductive ink "wires" printed on them. When the two sheets touch each other, the "wires" connect, closing the circuit and telling the computer which pad was trodden on. The spongy foam pushes the sheets apart when they're not being trodden on. There are holes in the foam sheet so the "wires" can touch when you step on the mat. The problem is that the conductive material the "wires" are made of is very thin and printed directly on to the crinkly plastic sheet. When you dance, the mat will move around and the sheets inside become creased. In no time, the "wires" get eroded along the crease lines and the circuit is broken. This manifested itself in our mat by the back button dying quickly, followed shortly after by a couple of the other buttons. BUT if you're the adventurous, handy type, you can fix this! All you need is some copper tape. Copper tape is like sticky tape made of tinfoil-like copper. It's sticky on one side and conductive on both sides. You need copper tape that's 0.5cm wide. Open the mat by cutting the stitching all the way round the mat. Then stick copper tape over the main "wires" leading from each pad to the controller at the top. I used a stapler to seal up the mat afterwards but you could stitch it again or use superglue I guess. I also bought some plywood to put under the mat so it won't move around and crease again (two pieces of wood so the mat can still be folded for storage, at least in half) and and covered the underside with duck tape to add grip for our laminate floor. The dance mat works better now than it did originally (the copper tape seems to make it more responsive) and hopefully it should now not break again!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 April 2024So when I first got this although it worked fine, it would fly all over the place and crease when playing.
However just a 5 nails a side, secured to a square of 6mm MDF. And the pad doesnt configure properly If your standing on the mat.
So if you read other reviews of pads not working, that's why.
Playing using step mania and it's great. Very Accurate for a cheap mat.
Also:
If you add some 3 mm thick by 300mm squares of hardboard under each pad it's easier to feel the pads and stay on point.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 February 2024Says in the description that you can download the game online via their website should you not have access to a disk drive. I downloaded the game as stated and it just refused to work, it wouldn't even load. Stuck with an item I can't even use

5.0 out of 5 stars This is perfect!
The pad functions just fine. You will have to adjust your own timing for when you go for a specific button since it is a softer pad. Take your time and practice on easier songs before adjusting yourself to harder ones.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super Nostalgic!
I remember loving DDR on my PS2 and playing on a similar mat like this and wanted to get back into it! The product came very quickly and was very easy to install. A CD and instructions came with the mat, but like most people my computer doesn't have a CD drive. However finding the installation file is very easy via google. It's also very easy to install new songs made by the community, so you don't have to get sick of the music! Mat so far has been accurate, I'll update if anything happens, but I am very happy with my purchase as of now!

4.0 out of 5 stars working universal usb product
It works for Mac OS also, I have been tested it out, it is just the cd rom is for Windows only, if you are a bit techy you can emulate it into anything, because it is accounted as universal usb.
"UPDATE¨, it may have a tap ghosting issues, where you cant hold one button and tap the other, The problem lies on down button right now.
