Am mostly pretty pleased with this, it's exactly what I wanted, a cheap, effective and nice-looking alarm clock. It is a bit smaller than I expected (but that was 100% my fault - the description did have the size, and it doesn't matter). It keeps good time and makes an awakening noise. My only real reservation is that the controls are a bit hard to see (black on black) and a tiny bit fiddly even once you've worked out which way to turn the alarm on!

I found my phone alarms don't wake me up, I often fall asleep with my phone on in the background so it just blends in. However this wakes me no problem, it's so loud I'm quick to get up and turn it off before it wakes the whole house!
The only issue I have is I cant pre set it earlier than the time I'd like it to go off. For example I couldn't set it at 7pm to go off at 8am as it would ring at 8pm instead.

I got this as a replacement for 2 previous purchases, the first one had a tick louder than the alarm? and the second although it had a silent tick it had a very quiet alarm even though it got louder as it went on but once the battery was more than 2 weeks old the alarm just stopped working.
But this one is perfect the alarm is more of a clatter than a ring but it does it's every time and with accuracy and the silent sweep second finger is a bonus.

I bought this because I had some important early appointments , and needed to be sure to wake . Upon testing it was clear that the alarm bell is useless. It is a manufacturing/design issue . I managed to improve it slightly by bending the bell supports away from the clanger and loosening the bells. It is clear this can never be made to work properly. It is a profound design fault . I can't return it because I've messed with it .
My advice is do not buy it . It is useless as an alarm clock

The clock arrived this morning, and although I knew it was 4" from base to bells, it seemed smaller than I expected. I should add that I was buying this clock to replace a larger, 6" tall version which we have had for many, many years.
I inserted a battery and set the time and the alarm, frankly curious to know just how loud a smaller version of the clock would perform. When the alarm went off, it did so with tremendous gusto. There is no doubt in my mind that this little clock will easily wake the heaviest of sleepers.
I was surprised at the amount of noise it made, considering it runs on just one 'AA' battery. (My older clock, which has become unreliable, required 1 type 'C' battery, and I cannot think of any other item I have which requires this type of battery).
The controls are straightforward - one control for setting the time and another for setting the alarm. An 'on/off' to turn the alarm on or off, and a small button (also on the back) to illuminate the dial in the darkness of the night.
For its size, this small clock makes a hell of a racket, and after all, that's what you want it to do.
I'm totally satisfied with the clock, and for the price, you cannot really go wrong. I recommend it without reservation.
