This film was a complete pleasure to watch. I grew up in the 70s around the horror genre but nothing scared me as much as this. I'm hoping it come's out on 4K.
A woman who's husband is a psychiatrist is killed one night when alone in their new, large, creepy house. It seems one of her husband's patients murdered her...she has a twin sister who's psychic and runs an antique shop full of haunted items. I really enjoyed this. Old-school suspenseful supernatural thriller that's not completely obvious in its execution. The special effects/horror isn't overdone and is more creepy for it. It's pretty atmospheric and moody. Reminded me of an old Amicus/Hammer Horror style story or perhaps a Tales Of The Unexpected kind of thing.
Really easy to watch, the lighting and cinematography. Acting great.
This was a very enjoyable horror movie, I felt like had a good amount of creepiness and tension, the atmosphere was great. I kindof liked the crossover reference of the director's previous movie, nothing wrong with a bit of universe building.
Got some decent jumps in too, honestly this movie could be a big hollywood horror in my honest opinion.
I have to say that Irish horror movies have been really great in the last few years, they do good horror along with good stories, and long may it continue. This is an excellent addition and probably one of the most well rounded quality horror movies, it's like a mix of a good old fashioned thriller story with a good chunk of occult/paranormal/creepy stuff. Was going to give it 4 starts but thinking about it, it's a 5 for sure.
While everyone raves on the overrated fan film ALIEN ROMULUS and the (unintentionally funny) Nicolas Cage movie LONGLEGS, this movie and another decent one called LATE NIGHT WITH THE DEVIL have slipped under public radar. This movie is not groundbreaking, it plays more like an extended episode of THE TWILIGHT ZONE, and its story reminds me a bit of an old forgotten movie called THE NIGHT VISITOR. However, it has some good acting and dialogue all the way through, and is quite creepy in some moments. Best enjoyed without watching the trailer or reading as little on the plot as you can.
Generally this film was excellent; light on the violence but heavy on atmosphere. The sound design and cinematography is what carries this film, because if you dwell too much on the plot, you'll notice there a quite a few massive holes in it, which, in retrospect makes the whole thing ludicrous. Never mind though, it's still worth watching.
Loved this film. Bit different, very scary and made me panic. The other film by this director was also very weird and unsettling. Will be on the look out for more from him in future. The wooden mannequin steals the show!
Sorry for the spoiler, this is well produced and directed. It's tense and suspenseful. This you did this to my sis but your not going to get away with it not even if I have to die for. Good movie for who likes "US,GET OUT,NO ONE GETS OUT ALIVE".
I didn’t find this film particularly scary as such. However it is odd, spooky and very weird. So if you’re into that sort of thing you will enjoy this.
