    I bought this as I wanted to have it on CD and remastered even though I already had it. The album is one of the best though as it contains all the A sides and B sides in one package. This started out as a boxed set of vinyl singles originally and then two separate albums, now thankfully all on one compact cardboard album.

    The A sides are mostly not on their albums which was Beatles policy almost till the end, the B sides are mostly excellent too with only one or two exceptions. The other good thing about the album is that you get a snapshot of the Fabs right from Love Me Do all the way to the end when they reluctantly released Let It Be.

    The strongest material seems to be on the first CD when they really worked hard to produce quality singles and B sides, producing quality B sides was unheard of in the early sixties when most bands just knocked out a cover version or filler track. There are quite a few double A sides as well in here as they had too many good songs.

    The songs on the second CD are great too but there seem to be much less singles in their later period as they obviously spent more time on studio albums. Also you can see how they became solo artists toward the end, e.g. Old Brown Shoe is just a George Harrison solo song, The Ballad of John and Yoko is like a solo Lennon record etc.

    I purchased this album mainly to complete my Beatles collection and i knew i would no doubt duplicate some songs on that i have already on other collections.

    This album brings together the two previous albums Past Masters Volume 1 and Volume 2.

    I am very happy to report that quite a number of these songs i really did enjoy.
    The album basically collects all the released non album singles and b sides The Beatles recorded in their career (The majority of their singles never appeared on their albums).

    My favourites on this album was 'Rain', 'The Inner Light' and also the songs sang in German: 'Komm Gib Mir Deine Hand (I want to hold your Hand)' and 'Sie Liebt Dich (She Loves You)'

    I can't really tell that the songs have been remastered but as I didn't have the original record i didn't really mind.

    The Beatles are the great treasure of British music and I'm really quite biased when it comes to their music. That being said, I'm not a John Lennon fan, although I respect his voice and music (well most anyway).

    This collection of mostly early Beatles tracks is a creditable snapshot of their music. The sound is clear, quality is for the most part excellent and the packaging includes a booklet - which for my money is better than the iTunes offering. You can hold it in your hand and read it. No, I've got nothing against iTunes. This album is on my iPhone, my iPad and my iTouch. But the CD and the bits that go with it have reminded me how much better the real thing is.

    This is a great CD. If you don't own any Beatles music, then this is a good place to start. It's fun and fresh, even after all these years.

    This is a collection of songs that were released on 45rpm; A and B sides. The later singles. The first volume has the rest.
