I recently upgraded my car phone holder to the Blukar Air Vent Car Phone Mount, and I couldn't be more satisfied with its performance. Here's why I give it a solid five stars:

Works like a charm and for a long time. design is smart and strong. Had one before it broke after like 8 years lol so a new one is no problem. The design has improved also. No silly suction cups and its solid and universal for all phones.

One thing to note depending on your phone model you may have to raise/life the phone slightly if the stand clamps onto your side buttons.

This is a nice phone holder and I like the functionality. However, I had to force the hooked connector in between the blades of the air vent. The hook hasn't quite gone behind the blade so it's now jammed in place. I can't remove it now without breaking the blades on the air vent. On the plus side it seems to be holding firm so it will just have to stay there now.
So make sure you have a large enough gap between the blades of your air vent?

Works on vertical vents

Wasn't sure if it would sit on my Hyundai vents, as it's vertical, but it's pretty stable. Buttons are covered a bit by the sides but can't really complain, when it holds the phone stable. Does the job nicely and in this car, much better than the ones on the window, as it's not taking any view of the road. Had to be put more on the passenger side, as it would get in the way of the steering wheel or indicator stick. Again more on the vent design of the car than the phone holder itself. Would recommend.

*Update 2025* Unfortunately due to being closer to the passenger side, people have knocked it and it's snapped a couple of vent slats. Again, for this car it's more the vent placement than the holder. Though please keep in mind that knocking it may break the vents. It did however work better with my new phone, as the buttons are in a different position.
