    Finally, one of the breakthrough Japanese cyberpunk movie is available on blu-ray for the first time. The picture quality is ok, it's a little bit blurry and noisy. But this is a low budget movie from 1991, so the master source itself looks like is not in the highest quality.

    This blu-ray release is no different from Unearthed's out of print dvd. So it's including: gallery, trailer, Caterpillar short film, and interview with Shozin Fukui.

    Alas, there's no new (or new old) material or extra. It feels very dissapointing. At least if they included Gerorusito, I think it will be more than enough. But it's still a nice thing that we can have this great movie on modern media.

    I hope someday there's blu-ray for Rubber's Lover or even the rest of Shuzin Fukui's movies.

    This movie is wonderful, in my opinion. I was so happy it was back in print after Unearthed Films struck it from production. And on Blu-Ray! Although the clarity is higher than prior releases, every single time there is an edit white jagged lines appear around the edges of the screen. It makes it unwatchable! Not sure if this was a frame rate issue or what, but its a total drag.
