I had been using a document feed scanner which was about three decades old and had to run it on Windows 7. I was getting frustrated because either the software would fail or the paper kept getting jammed. I was trying to bin/ recycle all the paperwork in my house and put it on to the computer. A tedious job at the best of times.
Searching around on the internet I came across this one on غ at a reasonable price, so I went for it.
How my life changed. Its size is very compact and its footprint is about half that of my old scanner. It scans quickly in both Gray scale and Colour. (I’m not happy with black and white as it appears rather stark). The other great thing about it is that it does Duplex scanning, i.e. both sides at the same time, which obviously saves time.
I got a bit annoyed in the early days as I kept getting lines down the scanned reproductions and needed to clean the light bar every so often. I then found out that it has two light bars for the Duplex scanning. Having cleaned both of the bars the reproduction was a lot better. (It pays to read the instruction manual first).
The scanning software is as good as any I have used to date. You are able to create your own templates for the type of job you need doing. For example, if you want to do a scan of one sided paper, in colour and as a “jpg” then select a template number and modify it to your requirements. If you wish to scan a doubled sided sheet, in colour as a “pdf” then modify the new template to what you want and save it against a second template number.
You can do this on as many templates that you need and just select each one by its template number and scan.
I am really glad I got a new one.
