Well, it's almost inevitable that collector's as i consider myself to be, will already own pretty much all
the tracks on the play-list, i suspect this 3-CD album has been released previously in one shape or
another, however, if you haven't previously purchased this collection what it gives, for me, is many much
loved tracks in a different and fresh play-order.
What we have here is several of 'Elvis's' hits, several much loved and remembered 'B-Sides' along with
    Album and Movie tracks.
Difficult to believe this legend of the Rock and Pop scene has been gone for over 37 years now, his music,
his legacy remains as popular now as it was back then.
Glancing down the play-list I'll just highlight one or two from each of the three discs.........on disc one.......
'Return to Sender' was a number '1' hit for the King way back in 1962....'Follow That Dream' primarily from
his movie of the same name, did chart for him as an E.P with songs from the film reaching number '34'
again back in 1962........'Just Tell Her Jim Said Hello' was in fact a 'B-Side' to 'She's Not You' a number '1'
hit, also in 1962, though i have to say i myself probably played the song as frequently as the A-Side back
then........'From a Jack to A King' primarily an album-track for 'Elvis' (A Chart topper from 'Ned Miller'..
'Kiss Me Quick' from the album 'Pot Luck' did chart for Elvis in 1963 reaching number '14'........on disc two......
'Such A Night' charted at number '14' back in 1964 the song a little more 'Rock'n'Roll' than many of the
King's releases around that time........'What'd I Say'a song recorded by many artists down the years that would
almost certainly have been used at many of his concerts to involve his audience........'Memphis Tennessee' a album
track for 'Elvis' that was a massive hit for 'Rock-Star' - 'Chuck Berry'........on disc three.......'Guitar Man'
an up-beat number that charted for 'Elvis' at number '19' in 1968........'In The Ghetto' an ever popular 'Elvis'
track that just missed out on the Top-Spot here in the U.K reaching the Number '2' slot in 1969........'Don't Cry Daddy'
a tear-jerker from the King that was a number '8' hit also in 1969........'U.S Male' always been a favourite of mine
down the years this one Charting at number '15' in 1968.
I have simply highlighted a few of the many favourites that can be found on this release which in my view
is a great reflection of the many many memories we have of the 60's from the 'King'
Great addition to a music collection.
(if you don't already own it there a 90 - track 'Real Elvis' box-set that is a perfect companion to this release,
which I have also reviewed recently)

Looking for some of Elvis earlier recordings, perfect.

I can honestly say that, I have a lot of Elvis' music but, when I came across this very good C.D. of his, I realised I didn't have a lot of this collection. Very clear sound, and, of course sung brilliantly. Very pleased indeed.

At 10.2 pence a track, there is great value here. I have a pretty good Elvis collection, but I have never been a ‘completest’, particularly as regards soundtrack albums, so this CD set fills a few blanks. The selection is interesting, encompassing, in a meandering way, the beginning, middle and end of the Sixties; the brilliant and the not-so-good (e.g. ‘Blue River’ I recall got the honker, not the bell, on Jukebox Jury – that didn’t stop me buying the single though); the well-known and the less-known. In truth, I find I am listening to memories as much as the music with this selection, so my objectivity is compromised. I feel, however, the selection does give a fair overview of Elvis’s output across that decade, living up to the title.

The sound quality is very good. Tracks of note include the short and catchy ‘Follow That Dream’ (which has been sampled for the current Sainsburys' advert); the rare(?) duet version of ‘Today, Tomorrow and Forever’ with Ann Margret (which is curiously bracketed by some studio production sounds); and ‘Baby What You Want Me To Do’ (from 1969, and seemingly live).

The packaging is good. Great jacket shot from about 1968, when everything was about to take off again, career-wise, for Elvis. Track information is provided at a basic level, but given the price offering it’s hard to complain about this.

Most Presley fans would cite the 50s as his defining era and some regard his 60s period having come out of the Army as being less influential. While there's less Rock 'n Roll, his voice is still compelling and the comeback hits, Guitar Man, US Male, etc, are fresh sounding and well produced songs.

I’ve always preferred the early Elvis but bought this to collect some of his later stuff .Generally a good selection but he should have left the cover of From a Jack to a King to Ned Miller.

This is a great cd, if you like Elvis, some great tracks to enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Three discs (49 tracks) of Elvis at his best, and at a bargain price!
Reviewed in the United States on 4 April 2020
What gets lost in the legend and the lurid tales of life-gone-wrong for the King (a title he hated and was forever trying to escape), is the plain fact that at his best -- and in my opinion that was in the Sixties -- this guy could sing anything. And I mean with authority and authenticity. I love the fact that these three discs span the spectrum -- hit singles, classic b-sides, album deep cuts, soundtrack songs, television and live-in-concert performances. Wisely, it circumvents the obvious, over-anthologized hit titles (like It's Now or Never, Are You Lonesome To-night?) to include lesser, but no less satisfying titles (like Such a Night, Devil in Disguise, She's Not You). It also features great, if somewhat forgotten flipsides (like Witchcraft, You'll Be Gone, Blue River), deep-cut ballads (like I'll Remember You, Gentle on My Mind -- yes, done as a soulful ballad!), and some great blues and r&b (like Long Black Limousine, Reconsider Baby, Stranger in My Own Hometown). Three discs filled to the brim with great music at a bargain price; who could ask for anything more? Highly recommended.
