Unlike other reviewers, I was lucky enough to find that this fob was very easily programmed from my existing remote fob by following the supplied instructions. This was achieved by a long press on both buttons together until the red light started blinking. A short press on one of the two buttons then selected which was being programmed, after which I held the old remote next to this one and pressed the desired button to clone.
After following this simple procedure I then tried the fob on the remote controlled gates and was pleased to find that they worked perfectly first time. The fob that I was cloning was a different make so it would appear that this replacement can be used with any remote that operates on the same frequency.
The fob itself feels very solid and appears well made. It is powered by a standard lithium coin type battery which should be easy to replace when it runs out of power. An excellent purchase as a back-up to our existing fob.
