- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 December 2024This is a high-quality replacement. It has all the tools needed to remove the front touch screen from the tablet. You will need a heat gun or hair dryer to heat up the screen to be removed so it melts the glue. The wedge tools that come with the kit are plastic and snap easily. Some of the tools are cheap guitar picks. But I managed to get the back cover off and the screen with the provided tools. The included screw drivers fit the screws well with no slipping. The replacement screen works well and no problems. The kit even has the double-sided tape included to stick the new screen on. Everything fits and works perfectly. A great price and very pleased.

To be honest I used some of my own tools, drill bit, etc etc as I repair laptops and have a full kit already so I didn't need any of the supplied tools.
However it does supply all the required basic tools etc, good enough quality for a one time use, the suction clips could be better but that just requires a bit more time and patience.
This wasn't a challenge for me although I really don't enjoy repairing phones/tablets as if you miss a single barely visible screw it can break the entire bored.
This screen replacement is only moderate difficulty if I had to guess but that will depend on the user.
The only suggestion I would say is that for £20 or so, the No.1 kits and brands on ÍøÆغÚÁÏ that specialise in all types of repair kit include their own full colour step by step manuals with a QR code linking to their very own made YouTube video guides, and you could probably buy those for the same price as this.
But I got this one for free, they do strongly suggest using search terms to find such a video. But if I wanted to make the best kits for tasks varying in difficulty then ifixit do exactly that covering laptops and other devices. You pay a bit of a premium but then they're a big branded dedicated to these kits and their own Youtube and vocal guides which makes the real tough jobs easier - Even for me who repair laptops/PCs, since every brand and device is different the general DIY skill and tools is useless without a video guide!
But I got this for free anyway and it's perfectly fine. Though the No.1 ranked kits and expert brands will provide their own less generic parts and QR code video guide links for £15-£20. But if you can find the guide on youtube, this is fine, the adhesive tape is legit 3M at least
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 January 2025Screen itself was fine but tools are poor quality and not really up to the job. Could do with some tweezers. Also need to find your own instructions on how to replace screen via YouTube etc.
Quite a fiddly job overall.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 January 2025This is the second replacement I received, different issues on both of them.
I took the whole board out exactly as the videos suggested and ensured alignment.
Don't get me wrong - the screen looks great! The cables are suspect with the sticky heat tape getting caught on the bubble wrap (managed to sort it without damaged).
I would have been happy if it actually worked and didn't have these nagging issues. I can't use this screen!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 December 2024Got this as I've just brought myself a kindle and this is great and easy to fit
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 December 2024I recently faced the daunting task of replacing my cracked tablet screen. This repair kit proved to be a lifesaver. The instructions were clear and concise, and the tools were easy to use. With a bit of patience and careful attention to the steps, I was able to successfully replace the screen. The kit is well-designed and includes everything you need for a successful repair.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 November 2024This screen replacement kit was a lifesaver! Managed to crack my tablet screen, and this kit had everything I needed to fix it myself. The instructions were clear enough, and the tools were decent quality. The new screen works perfectly, and you wouldn't even know it had been replaced. Saved me a fortune on a repair shop!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 November 2024This is a basic touch screen digitizer replacement kit.
Its not the images screen. It is the bit that allows your touches to control the kindle.
If your kindle has a cracked picture and warped images, this wont do it, its just the outer touch screen connection.
If your image is good but the outer is cracked and wont recognise touches, this I what you want.
It comes with the digitizer and the tools to put it in.
You'll need to look for a video on how to do it as instruction on the box wont be helpful for specifics.
The tools are adequate.
I find the guitar packs are the best thing as they are a bit softer and not so likely to snap off if you give a little help to the case as you pry it open. You can run them around the edge ,round and round till you get the edge loose enough to start pulling the back away.
The persuader tools are better for the corners and any bits where the picks aren't enough.
This has all the screw driver you'll need and a reset tool for when you are done.
Do this with the Kindle turned off if possible.
Get the Back off.
Un plug the battery from the circuit board and carefully unplug the screen connector
Unscrew the screws for that part of the board.
Turn over and warm the screen with a hair dryer( to soften the glue holding it down)
Use your plastic picks to go around the edge, you are trying to get the stuck digitizer up off the glue so you need to go round and round again and once you get a place to purchase, carefully lift away a bit at a time.
Might need to rewarm a few times.
You have to unthread the connector through the edge of the case and its free.
TAKE CARE with that bendy bit.
Ensure that the new connector has space to get through to the back from the front by removing any edge screws preventing lifting the back enough to get it through.
Carefully clean the screen and the surrounding if there are any lumpy glue bits left.
Use the strips of adhesive from the kit to go around and replace the old glue.
DONT FORGET to put the connector through the side and connect it up before sticking the digitizer down.
It uses a miniscule ribbon connector so take time getting that in.
Screw all the screws back in.
DONT FORGET to plug the battery back in.
The cover click back on.
That's it.
Pull off the plastic from the front and you are done.
You probably are not going to need the screen puller sucker or the reset tool.
You don't get a polishing cloth .
No specific directions for replacing your kindle screen are included.
You must make sure you have the right kit for the model year of the kindle as they aren't the same even though the size might be.
