Never seen anything like this before. I like any lights that you do not have to hold yourself and provide a practical solution. This is great for working on the car. We are now going into the winter months so the amount of daylight is limited, even during the day when there are dark grey clouds about. This gives you lighting so you can see what you are doing, my eye sight isn't great so helps there as well. Clips underneath and can be moved around.
Having three different settings is really useful as it makes it more versatile and be used around the house. I like the flashing red light option which can be used on the car when waiting for breakdown help. Only the other day I stopped to help some elderly couple change the tyre in the evening, this light would of been useful for them to warn other drivers of their presence. Rechargeable with USB-C cable is a good option.
I do think the price is a bit high for something like this. Reduce the price and I think more will buy.

I'm extremely interested in cars, and have been modifying my car for some time now. I carry out my own services, and always ensuring that there are no leaks in my engine bay.
With this light, it makes it so much easier, especially during winter time when the days are getting darker much faster.
The lamp is relatively bright, and is extremely robust. The magnets are strong, and would have no problem sticking to under your bonnet.
I would definitely recommend if you work in a garage, or you are a car enthusiast.

This inspection lamp isn't a go-to for heavy commercial use. The plastics used are likely not up to harsh treatment, or being thrown around in toolboxes alongside heavy items. I can easily foresee the plastic clips used to secure the bungie clasps being knocked-off. However, that doesn't seem to be the target market and for casual DIY use and as a safety beacon to be carried in the car for emergencies, I think it is well worth the asking price.

Pros
- magnetic pads are strong enough to do what they need to
- where needed, the elasticated bungie clasps hold securely
- clasps are padded well with soft rubber to prevent scratching of paintwork
- VERY impressive battery life: 3 hours on full brightness and in excess of 8 hours on the lowest setting (which still provides a good standard of illumination)
- very practical inclusion of a red flashing safety beacon function. It can be magnetically clamped to the rear of a vehicle for emergency use. For this reason alone, it will be left in my car at all times, plugged into a 12v outlet in the boot via USB charger.
- Fits and attaches securely under bonnet to larger, wider vehicles e.g. Volvo XC90

Note
- The width of the lamp strip is only around 50cm
- The width of the magnetic fixing centres is around 60cm. If you don't have suitable metallic attachment points inside that range, then you will need to use the elastic clamps.
- To the last point, be aware that some cars have non-metallic panels, including bonnets. Even where metal bonnets are used, thick noise insulating padding if present will prevent magnetic attachment.
- The unit would benefit from a function to flash the main lamp a few times as a warning of impending battery exhaustion, rather than just turning itself off abruptly as it does.

As a kid, I used to love watching my dad working under the bonnet of his car, or under the chassis of a vehicle that was up on a jack. In those situations there was rarely sufficient light on the appropriate areas, with my father's clip-on cone lamp doing the best it could, but often slipping position or falling off altogether. Sometimes I had the privilege of holding the cone lamp and directing the beam where my dad told me to, altering the angle according to his instructions. We always got the job done, but it was almost never easy. The main difficulty was getting enough light exactly where it was needed. This fantastic Magflex 1000 light from Ring Automotive does exactly that and makes it easy. It's phenomenally versatile - perfect for under-bonnet and/or under-chassis work, or for providing light anywhere else you desire it. The brightness is adjustable (three settings, the brightest of which is 1,000 lumens). There's also a flashing-red-light feature that's ideal for marking the rear of a broken-down vehicle whilst waiting on a tow truck or mechanic. As for attaching the light to surfaces, there's a couple of options. The light comes with detachable hooks on elasticated straps - ideal for under-bonnet jobs and some under-chassis ones. As an alternative mounting option, the flexible light strip's end sections have built-in strong magnets capable of keeping the light firmly adsorbed to any magnetic surface. The light strip is twistable, bendable and, to a large degree, impact resistant (IK07 rated). It's the perfect portable lighting solution for mechanics, electricians and anyone else who relies on effective directed lighting that can be easily moved as necessary.

The Magflex 1000 light band comes with the extras you need: 2 x lithium-ion rechargeable batteries, 1 x USB-C charging cable.

I've no criticisms at all. An excellent piece of kit from Ring Automotive.
