I searched around a lot to get a nice size, shape and quality cold frame, and opted for this from Rowlinson. It was a great price, and had a reasonable lead time, given the current Covid shipping challenges.
Arrived well packaged, all the parts were there and had clear and simple instructions for construction.
All in all it took me less than 30 minutes to get it all put together.

I wanted a solid, heavy cold frame: there are cheaper products around that get poor reviews because they can blow away in a high wind. No danger of that with this beauty. Easy enough to assemble with an electric screwdriver. So why not five stars? Because no instructions are provided and it's far from intuitive working out where all the pieces go. Fortunately they are easily available online, but why put the customer to the trouble?

After reading previous reviews I wasn't expecting instructions nor the right number of screws, but taken aback to receive NO screws or hinges. ? Plastic wrapping means it arrived damp with gritty mould spots, but since it's going outside that doesn't matter. Expensive for what is is, should have made my own but for the difficulty in making window panes. Instructions are online if you want to buy recommended size of screws in advance

Overall rating would have been 4 stars if the screws were correct - the 40mm were 35mm and there was one of those missing. There were also twice the amount of 25mm screws but with 2 different thread widths and 12 instead of 24 x 16mm. (I have a screw supply so didn't contact for replacements). The instructions are misnumbered and whoever wrote them can't count the number of screws required for each section! Confusing if you rely on instructions. Having said that, its been fairly easy to put together and I'm looking forward to putting plug plants in it tomorrow. Rowlinsons your instructions need revising. Lovely sturdy cold frame, can't imagine any wind except gale force lifting this even though the lids are perspex and not glass. Very pleasing to the eye. Beware - extremely heavy to lift e.g. from front door to back garden through flat, even though flat packed. Very helpful courier brought mine into the hallway for me.

Easy enough to assemble and sturdy enough.
Think you would need to insulate the inside of cold frame with polystyrene if growing plants over the winter. This is my first cold frame I bought it as I wanted to grow sweetpeas from seed and I planted them in October and they are coming on well. I take the plants out through the day and put them in at night. Its strong enough and won’t blow about with the wind. Not sure if its worth £95 but I did look at lots of coldframes and reviews and this seemed like the best one for the money and its doing the job for me.
