Took me a while to assemble ads the pieces just wouldn't fit together: a good bash and they finally slotted together! It is a basic bin but quite adequate and a cheap price.
The top lid can be easily lifted so I have positioned a decorative pot plant on top.
It does not give instructions for rat-proofing and is open at the base, so I have placed it on a stone slab base.
The bottom front access 'door' could be easily lifted by rodents, as it just slides up. I have overcome this problem by purchasing steel grids and cut one to fit on the inside of the access door and have placed another on the outside with sturdy plant pots in front. To either side of the bin I have added a planted selection of smelly herbs disliked by rats.
