Compatible with Positioning Holes for ARRI: As long as your cage has standard positioning screw holes for ARRI, you can mount this latest quick release top handle with the included quick release slider. The slider is equipped with a magnetic anti-drop positioning pin to prevent the handle from accidentally slipping off.
Two-Way Installation: You can slide the handle into the quick release slider for ARRI in both directions without confirming the installation direction, making installation more convenient.
Slide in More Smoothly: The handle adopts exclusive roller-assisted disassembly and assembly, and one-button press slide in self-locking, without secondary reinforcement. Vertical locking reduces wear and makes insertion smoother.

This top handle is really nicely made, The machining and finish is really nicely done.
I actually like the feeling of the square handle and rubber grip. It's surprisingly ergonomic, and I feel like I have a bit more control than if it had been more rounded. It is really comfortable to hold, and fits my mid sized hands well.

It's a shame SmallRig have designed it so it only really mounts properly with their own included clamp. The mounting does work exceptionally well, it's smooth to fit and locks great. If they had made it universal though I would have had more fitment options and a bit more respect for them. As it is though as long as you are aware of that I think it's definitely a 5 star item, in terms of build, looks and functionality.

This is a great upgrade if you are filming using your DLSR, it allows a much larger range of movement than holding the edge, and it feels much safe to hold the handle.

I personally think it's good value, Small rig is a respected brand in the camera accessory industry so you know that it's good quality and made to last. Compared to the cost of dropping your camera, it's cheap

Overall I would recommend this to any aspriing film makers or content creators who want to improve their shooting

I really like how it's quick and kinda easy to mount.
There are a few things you should know...

1) The first several times you use this, it's going to be very stiff and may be difficult to attach onto the supplied NATO rail. It won't slide in easily, you'll have to press the button to slide it in. It gets easier as you do it more and more. But its not going to be much. The Falcam system seems to be a much better option as it slides smoothly, from what I've seen.

2) It will not work on any existing NATO rails. You will need to use the supplied NATO as it has grooves in it, which allows the device to lock into it. Which is expected.

3) Because there's no tightening lock, it means that there might be some play/wobble. I have a few of these hawklocks, on my monitor, a top handle, etc. And there is a bit of wobble. It is secure, no issues, but it does wobble a bit. Wish there was a way to tighten it a bit more, but it's not bad... My top handle is mounted on a mirrorless camera cage.

Overall, I do like it. But, I think if they could improve, it would be to use a small lever. That way its still quick and easy, but more secure. And less fidly than the twist locks.

Dieser Top Handle Griff der Marke SmallRig wurde mir im Rahmen des ��غ�� Vine-Programms freundlicherweise kostenfrei zur Verfügung gestellt. Dafür möchte ich mich zunächst bei ��غ�� und natürlich auch beim Hersteller recht herzlich bedanken. Dass ich dieses Produkt kostenfrei erhalten habe, nimmt jedoch keinerlei Einfluss auf meine Bewertung.

Ich bin nebenberuflich als Videograf tätig und daher freue ich mich natürlich immer sehr, wenn ich solche Produkte testen darf.
Solch ein Top Handle Griff der (im Videobereich) bekannten Marke SmallRig, besitze ich tatsächlich sogar schon. Allerdings ist das die Variante mit Blitzschuhhalterung zum Festschrauben.
Die hier getestete Variante mit dem Quick Release Silder kannte ich bis dato noch nicht, aber sie hat mich durchaus positiv überrascht.
Das Anbringen und Abnehmen des Griffs, geht um ein Vielfaches schneller!
Und jeder der im Videobereich tätig ist, weiß, Geschwindigkeit ist Trumpf!! Oft muss es einfach super schnell gehen und da kann jede Sekunde hilfreich sein.
Grundvoraussetzung ist natürlich, dass man bspw. einen Kamerakäfig besitzt, um den Slider daran befestigen und überhaupt verwenden zu können. Diesen benötigt man für die Blitzschuhvariante nicht.
Aber gut, ich sage mal so:
Jeder der etwas professioneller unterwegs ist, sollte auch mindestens einen Kamerakäfig besitzen. Für den Hobbybereich reicht dann natürlich auch die Blitzschuh-Variante vollkommen aus. Da muss es ja für gewöhnlich auch nicht so schnell gehen ;-)

Auch ansonsten macht dieser Top Handle einen insgesamt sehr überzeugenden Job! Er ist hochwertig verarbeitet, wirkt ausgesprochen robust und liegt m.E. nach fantastisch in der Hand. Hinzu kommt, dass er auch in Sachen Design voll meinen Geschmack getroffen hat. Es ist zwar nur ein Zubehörteil für Videoequipment, aber ich finde das Teil echt schick!
Auch die flexiblen Anbringungsmöglichkeiten machen Spaß und sind sehr gut durchdacht. Neben den üblichen Gewindelöchern, um weiteres Equipment anzuschrauben, gibt es auch Blitzschuheinschübe (H18) sowie Schnellverschlussschieber (H21). So kann ich beispielsweise meine SmallRig Monitorhalterung (mit Natoschiene), direkt an dem Griff verwenden und festspannen. Super praktisch!

Also alles in Allem habe ich hier rein gar nichts zu beanstanden. Das ist einfach ein sehr gutes Produkt in gewohnter SmallRig-Qualität, dass ich jedem nur wärmstens empfehlen kann!
Aktuell knapp 75,00€ mögen für solch ein kleines Zubehörteil zwar nicht gerade günstig sein, aber m.E. ist das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis hier durchaus stimmig!
Von mir gibt’s eine klare Kaufempfehlung und natürlich auch die vollen 5 Sterne!
