I’ve not used a magnetic filter before, I was expecting it to just stick to the end of the lens, but quickly realised that the end of the lens is plastic. So there’s still a screw bit to fasten to the lens. The filter attaches to this magnetically, and rotates nicely as a polarising filter should.

The problem, for me, is that once the screw bit is attached, I can no longer attach my lens cap, and though I can still attach the lens hood with the filter holder in place, I can’t then get at the polariser to rotate it. Not that that particular problem is unique to this particular filter. I am more concerned with not being able to use the lens cap once the filter holder is in place. For me this means removing the holder when I’ve finished with the filter - at which point there’s no benefit to having a magnetic attachment.

Still, the polariser is a useful filter for me as I photograph a lot of plants and flowers, and the polariser is great for preventing blown out highlights on glossy leaves and petals - see example photo.

Smallrig is one of my tried and tested brand and they are producing excellent quality photography accessories. This CPL filter is exceptional well manufactured piece of glass with 28 multi layer nano coating and has true high definition optics as well as scratch resistant touch glass coating with Magnetic attachment. Unfortunately I don't have Magnetic filter holder so I can not comment on how convenient or well it will work.

Now what do I use CPL filters for?
CPL stands for Circular Polarizing Filter and it does exactly that. It cuts out any possible stray rays of light, reflections and glare from the scene. CPL filter is commonly used by Landscape photography especially to cut out reflections from water surface. It also increases contrast of image, enhances colour saturation especially beautiful blue skies you see in professional photos hence it's called Polarizing Filter. It reduces atmospheric haze by filtering out stray beams of light.

It is also a must have tool for Car photography, through the glass pan of windows and product photography as it will take away the reflections and glare.

Overall a great piece of very well machined optics and filter ring. 5 stars 🌟 from me.

Il polarizzatore è fatto bene e polarizza correttamente, il problema è che il filetto davanti, nel caso si volessero aggiungere dei filtri ND non è da 67mmm ma più grande di una misura indefinita, dato che il diametro subito superiore dei filtri è 72mm ovviamente non ci entrano. Quindi non ci siamo.

Ich nutze bereits ein paar Filter von Smallrig und muss sagen, ich bin von der Qualität und den Ergebnissen absolut überzeugt.
Sie kommen ordentlich verpackt und in einer praktischen Plastikbox, die man auch weiter gut zur Aufbewahrung nutzen kann.
Der Filter lässt sich dank der Magnetischen Halterung super einfach tauschen, wenn einmal ein Magnetring am Objektiv befestigt ist.
Aber alles in Allem eine gute Preis/Leistung. 👍

J'ai testé ce filtre Polarisant circulaire de 67mm en ballade sur un objectif 50mm, la bague adaptateur de base se visse de façon classique sur l'objectif et l'anneau magnétique avec le filtre se place dessus ensuite tout simplement. Les réflexions sur l'eau sont bien réduites, idem pour la brume de chaleur de façon moindre sur la distance.

L'aimant est largement assez fort pour que le filtre et la bague ne semble faire qu'un à première vue donc aucun risque que le filtre tombe même en bougeant pas mal et il se retire sans trop forcer.
L'épaisseur est similaire aux filtres non aimantés et on peut évidemment toujours tourner le filtre pour ajuster son orientation et l'effet.

Je n'ai pas noté de teinte particulière de l'image avec/sans et le prix est totalement cohérent.

J'ai voulu tester ce filtre polarisant circulaire à fixation magnétique pour mieux me rendre compte de la praticité et de la sécurité de ce type de fixation.

Le filtre est livré dans une boite plastique transparente pour le stockage, avec notice et chiffon de nettoyage.
Le filtre est donc composé d'une bague vissante diamètre 67mm ici, que l'on fixe à demeure (ou non selon le besoin) sur l'objectif, puis on "colle" le filtre sur la bague.

Côté pratique c'est en effet très bien, et si on a plusieurs filtres du même type et diamètre, l'échange est grandes simplifié ! (C'est un peu le but !)
Côté sécurité je suis rassuré, la force d'accroche magnétique est suffisamment ferme pour le pas se soucier de perdre le filtre ! Mais comme on a ici un filtre voué à être pivoté très souvent (même si la bague est souple et tourne fluidement) il faudra néanmoins par sécurité s'astreindre à toujours tourner le filtre dans le sens vissant (vu côté lentille) pour ne pas risquer de finir par dévisser la bague de soutien sur l'objectif, à force de friction répétitive dans le sens dévissant.

Côté qualité d'image, rien à redire, et l'effet du polarisant est bien présent, selon les axes au soleil compatibles et optimaux bien sûr.

Je recommande.
