【15mm LWS rod adapter】The front and rear ends of the dual rod system have a standard diameter of 15mm and a spacing of 60mm. Moreover, the front-end dual rod system can save 24mm for up-regulating, which can guarantee the spacing between the lens center of FX9, FS5, for URSA MINI, for CANON C300, and other devices to be 85mm as the standard.
【M6 Rosette】Both sides of the shoulder pad are standard M6 rosette mounts, which can be installed with the original control handle of 1810 or FX9 machines.
【Center Gravity Adjustable】Thanks to the built-in quick release plate for Manfrotto 501 sliding 0-80mm forward, and the SmallRig quick-release plate sliding 0-120mm backward, it helps balance your camera on your shoulder or rig and install follow focus system and matte box. In addition, You do not have to first remove follow focus system or matte box as the front rod system goes together with plate for Manfrotto 501.
【Extra Mounting Points】Feature 1/4"-20 threaded holes and 3/8"-16 threaded holes in the V-shaped bottom plate, which support various other quick-release plates and tripods. I Purchased This Shoulder Plate To Replace My Zacuto Plate.The Main Reason Was Adjust Ability. To Get My Sony FS7 Further Back On The Plate And Have More Control With The Handles. i Found Setting Up Alot More Quickly. I Thought Initially The Shoulder Pad Was Going To Be An Issue For Comfort, Just Pressing One finger Into The Shoulder Pad Was Too Easy But Once On The Shoulder It Is Comfortable Because All The Shoulder Mount Comes Into Contact At Once. The Smallrig Sliding Plate Comes In Handy To Fine Tune The Camera Balance While On The Shoulder. The Sony VCT Tripod Adapter Works Well With A Solid Click And NO Movement Once Locked Down. Front 15mm Rod Height Bracket Adjustment Is Good And The Bracket Can Be Flipped So Lens Support Brackets Of Various Designs/Heights Can Be Used.The Shoulder Bracket Takes Plain Ended 15mm Rods. I Think Smallrig Could Make Another Pair Of Forward Reaching Arri Rosette Brackets That Go Further Forward.Well Designed, Worth The Money, Does The Job Well.

Used with mounting a FS5, added a V-Loc battery using rods on the back and also have the small rig arms & handles for the remote grip.

Solid metal build, the tabs for tightening things up are small but also metal so can take some force and all have the ability to lift and twist to get into a better position.

Compared to other rigs I’ve shot with having the camera above the shoulder rather than in front makes it a lot more comfortable and stable. Shoulder padding is generous and comfortable.

It's cheap compared to a lot of other VCT shoulder pads out there and it does lock securely into the Smallrig VCT plate (although it takes a bit of a hard push to get them both together). My main concern is the material used for the padding, it doesn't feel very comfortable (I do have quite boney shoulders though). I would have preferred more of a contour between the outer and inner edges of the padding as well, so it's thicker on the outside to sit more level. Not bad value though overall and a lot cheaper than Shape and Zacuto.

Firstly none of Manfrotto plates fit this? Despite other reviews saying it does !

I was intending to use it with my FX6 ! Its too big for the FX6 and when you use the plate only and don't slide it onto the quick release you cannot put the camera on the ground because of the bar support on the front! I was also going to use it with my FX9 and there is too much of a gap at the rear and it wobbles!

I WOULD NOT recommend this plate.

It does everything you'd want it to do.
Build quality is great and it feels very sturdy.

I do kinda wish the forward rods attached in a slightly different manner, perhaps to the base itself rather than the camera's QR plate.

The big issue however, is that the shoulderpad is incredibly uncomfortable!
It's very rigid, and has these protruding lines (which are probably intended for added grip) that really dig into your shoulder. Now, you can take it off, and buy a separate third party shouldered (costing some $200), but I really wish the included pad was a bit better.

Perhaps have a look at the older model with the slightly softer pad. It's not as easily adjustable as this one is, but at least it has a much softer pad.

Den Schnellwechsel.Stativadapter habe ich wegen des Schulterpolsters gekauft. Die FS7 bietet ab Werk nur eine sehr harte und unbequeme Auflage, die außerdem zu weit vorn sitzt. Nach einem langen Drehtag schmerzten mir noch lange die Schulter und der rechte Arm. Mit diesem Produkt kann die Auflagefläche nach hinten verlagern, was zu einer entspannteren Handhabung der Kamera führt. Dessen Polster ist wesentlich bequemer als das an der Kamera.
Den Griffarm habe ich an der Arri-Rosette der Schulterplatte befestigt. Dadurch ist er nun tiefer angebracht und lässt sich besser greifen. Auch bei vollem Auszug konnte ich mit dem Arm die Kamera nicht bequem halten. Jetzt ja.
Der dritte Vorteil ist unscheinbar, aber sehr nützlich. Jetzt kann ich die Kamera endlich abstellen. Vorher musste ich sie auf die linke Seite legen, weil sie sonst umgefallen wäre. Mit angebrachter Schulterplatte lässt sie sich einfach hinstellen in einer Drehpause.
Vorn habe ich die Aufnahmeplatte meines Stativs angeschraubt. So kann ich die Kamera schnell von der Schulter nehmen und auf das Stativ setzen. Der Schwerpunkt ist über einen Knebelverschluss auf der rechten Seite fix gefunden.
Der Schnellwechsel.Stativadapter ist hochwertig verarbeitet, nicht bleischwer und löst gleich drei Unzulänglichkeiten auf einmal. Wenn ich eines Tages Rails, Schärfezieheinrichtung oder V-Mount Akkus nachrüsten möchte, sind passende Erweiterungen lieferbar.
