If you or a loved one has difficulty getting in and out of bed, the Elite Care safety bed rail can help. Whether you’re recovering from surgery, like a knee injury or hip replacement, or are limited in mobility, due to arthritis or back pains, this bed rail is designed to provide added stability and support.

The safety bed rail fits most beds, and can be used on either side of the bed. The rail slides underneath the mattress and the straps help keep it in place. A simple push button adjustment allows you to slide the leg up or down for your desired height.

For added comfort and stability, the safety bed rail handle is covered with soft foam. This bed safety rail also comes with a pocket for storing books, the TV remote, and other personal items. Constructed of sturdy steel tubing, this safety rail is easy to assemble and does not require any tools to set up.

As a disabled person I have an NHS Occupational Therapist item fixed to my bed at home. Therefore I needed something to take with me whenever I went on holiday or to stay at a relative or friends house.

This is ideal as it is transportable and comes in pieces, ready to be self assembled at the new destination.

It is more stable that my OT kit at home, as there are two adjustable legs & rubber feet that give a much firmer installation. Beauty about this feature is that the height can be adjustable to fit that of the height of the underside of the mattress from the floor.

My official NHS kit is not as firm. Both depend on the body weight to trap the “tongue” between the mattress and the bass.

Can’t find any fault in this other than a white option would be an option, but this is being finding fault or “nit picking”!

Purchased this for my elderly mother who was worried about rolling out of her bed in the night. Full sides were inappropriate, and changing the bed unnecessary, so the district nurse suggested side guards. I found these through searching the web and they were an affordable choice. I ordered two, one for each side. They arrived very quickly (although I have to point out they had obviously been opened and I suspect were a return!) and are easy to fix to the bed providing you have good help (I used my husband) as you have to run the support straps under the mattress and wrap over the base of the bar. Instructions are not good and its a bit fiddly. Once we figured out how to do this, and tie them off, we completed the task easily.

Once in position they are unobtrusive but provide both a good handle for my mother to use to sit up and steady herself when sitting down/getting into bed and also are excellent as a small guard to remind mum where the edge of the bed is. Importantly she does not feel trapped and can easily get in and out of bed with the side guards remaining in place,plus you can change the height of them, which is useful.

This is perfect for my husband, who has trouble getting out of bed. He loves it. It provides enough support for him to heave himself up - and the pocket is a boon (for mobile, charging leads, pens, etc). We've also used it on a different bed and it was very easy to remove and re-position. Having said which, it is also fairly secure when in place, as long as you have a reasonably thick mattress (we have 25cm ones). We did think about securing it further with the straps provided, but it would have been difficult to do - and un-do, if I wanted to use it elsewhere. However, without the straps it seems to be fine - you just need to be aware how you are using it. We are so pleased with it that we have since bought a second one for him to to use near the bottom of the bed - so he has one for each hand to help him get up.. Brilliant, neat, very reasonably priced (compared to others on the market), and doesn't look too 'orthopaedic'!

The device is supported by a bar set at right angles to the upright and goes between the mattress and the base pretty well although not quite sitting square. It is very firm though which is good. There is also a securing strap but it is not long enough to go round a king size bed so I cannot use it. Not a problem though as the rail is nice and secure

After searching the Internet for a bed rail that didn’t look like a hospital bed, we came across this. Some of the reviews were a bit meh, but we decided to give it a go. We were not disappointed!! This is such good quality, well made, incredibly sturdy and handy with the pocket for remotes/books. Some people mentioned how it was difficult to assemble. They must have been wearing a blindfold, snow mittens and doing it behind their backs because it was ridiculously simple and straight forward. Click a few bits together (if you’ve ever used a kids scooter or walking crutch or even a trampoline you would have noticed the same kinda clicker buttons) wrap the strap around the base/frame of the bed, shove the mattress back on and BAM! It’s ready to rock. Give it a quick shake and a pull just to give it a test drive and you will see how amazing this product is.
