I was looking for a soundbar as I found the TV speakers just weren't man enough. I shopped around for a few weeks and stumbled across this gem.

I was slightly skeptical as some soundbars cost an absolute fortune and finding one for under £100 seemed too good to be true...

A few months down the line and I do not regret buying this soundbar one bit! Easy to set up and looks great. I went down the direct cable route for best results (luckily I can hide the cable) and the sound quality is 10x better than the TV speakers and would never go back! Great base and surround sound effect.

Also it easily connects to my phone via Bluetooth if I want to listen to music now and then.

Only downside is the on/off and volume light etc is on the top of the soundbar so I'm unable to see any light however this does not bother me but may be deal breaker for others.

No noticeable lip sync issues, tested both Bluetooth and optical cable (optical cable is not not included). Plenty of volume for music and video, with rich tones and a surprising amount of bass. Easy to connect to phones using NFC feature. It does not have an HDMI input.

Some reviews have complained about poor sound quality - this might be because they are not using the correct setting; switching night mode and Voice enhancement on or off makes quite a difference depending on what is being played.

The unit is 68mm high (despite the description and unhelpful answers from the seller and other buyers who were just completely wrong😅) so doesn't quite fit comfortably beneath our particular TV, even with it set to its higher position. This isn't a problem though because it can sit just slightly behind and underneath the TV, and sounds fine.

The interface for adjusting the sound settings etc. with the remote is a bit awkward and not very intuitive, but I would recommend downloading the PDF manual for the full instructions.

Really pleased with the Samsung C400 overall, and for £89.99 it seems to be a good budget upgrade option.

This has very good sound for price. BUT… don’t make the same mistake as I did. I purchased this because I’ve recently bought a Samsung TV and I thought ‘as they’re the same brand, they’ll work perfectly together’. Reader, I was wrong. Connected via Bluetooth is a great idea, but leaves a horrible latency with the audio which cannot be fixed by audio delay. Oh well, I’ll just connect it via HDMI arc. Wrong again - this sound bar DOES NOT HAVE HDMI IN. What sound bar does not have HDMI? Okay, I’ll connect via optical audio. Wrong again - my TV doesn’t have optical audio out. Again… WTAF? Solved by connecting the Virgin box to the soundbar via optical - but very nearly returned it. My advice - do the research before you buy!

I don’t like the volume button on the remote, it’s fiddly to use.

Bought this as was Bluetooth wireless as TV don't have optical output and I must say i am very very disappointed in my purchase as it was Samsung was sound quality performance and. Remote very basic and little hard to us. Two modes ONLY standard and surround both sounds the same to me. My actual TV sound is way better and like a surround sound than this. Considering returning .my previous sound bar had way better sound and options on it. Not the value for money as I thought . Be wary. Any one noticed sound don't keep on with the tv. Edit: I have started my return process.
