I stick by Sandisk and have got 4 of these (Sandisk are a go to brand for me for pro use. I've got SDDs, HDDs, probably had 100 cards, USB sticks etc) and have been using these card readers for probably the best part of 5 years. All have been great, and never let me down.

Problem is, I've just got a Lexar Pro card reader and the SanDisk is averaging 30-35% slower transfers. On small file transfers, its closer at 10-15% but all adds up. The Lexar has equally good build quality by the feel of it, and similar form factor. I haven't used it long term yet but it looks solid enough, so the SanDisk's will be relegated to the role as emergency backup card readers. (Im more surprised they havent updated it in all these years)

Purchased to be used with some high speed sd cards, the speed of transfer is quite amazing compared to old readers and slower speed cards. If you're taking a lot of pictures then you really need one of these unless you want an interminable wait to look at your pictures. Quite a difference in speed via type C compared to using a convertor to transfer via older USB ports. Worth every penny.

Impressive transfer speeds, as expected from Sandisk. Files are uploaded before you can say "jam butty". A flawless performer. Tends to heat up when there's a card inside but I always remove my cards immediately after transfer anyway. Recommended especially if you're using the latest fast SD cards and shoot raw. My previous reader would often lose connection and require a bit of fiddling about round the back of the computer. This one just runs perfectly. Just wish it had a longer cable for my setup but that's a minor issue.
