Bought this to shorten the drying time in the tumbler and it does. When I purchased my washing machine I failed to notice that it did not have a spin only cycle only rinse and spin and the spin cycle drops down to 1200. Not being prepared to pay another £700 for a new washing machine got this extra spinner and it works a treat. I knew that it would not dry the washing but was still surprised at the amount of extra water removed and it cuts the drying time in half. It's easy to use and move about when necessary. I do not regret buying it.

The sprin dryer went flying across the room I tried various ways of loading it with the same result. The small lightweight hose to collect the water is so flimsy and with the vibration of the dryer it jumped out of the basin and sent water all over the floor! I bought it to replace my English Electric small spin dryer, big mistake. The spin dryer is too lightweight for it’s size. Rubbish!, I sent it back the same day.

Really great design, easy to set up and use and a wonderful space saving item! Especially compared with a tumble dryer. However I could not get it to stick to the floor. So everytime it's on the dryer jumps about. So until I can work out that issue I've not been able to use it.

The media could not be loaded.

The spin dryer is quite large, but it's lightweight allegedly 9.5kg. I therefore have been storing it on top of my tumble dryer and lifting it down in order to use it. That's a bit awkward because there are no handles, but it has to be done otherwise I'd have no where to store it.
When unpacking the machine is wrapped in a cellophane that you have to take off. Annoyingly this has been trapped as the components are put together so inevitably there are bits remaining.
The instructions are pretty vague. It talks about a gasket without telling you what it is in the instructions. I figured it was the large flat sheet of oval plastic with holes in. There's also a length of tubing that was inside the machine that doesn't seem to go anywhere or do anything, and it's not mentioned in the instructions.
To use load the drum. I find heavier items at the base building up to light items. I find anything over half full and I can't balance the machine (I tried 8 shirts all the same and it would not balance). Once the untangled items are in and pressed down add the gasket (flat plastic thing with holes in it and close the two lids.
To operate use the touch controls: on/off, timer 2-5 minutes, start/pause. This is simple. The machine automatically stops if opened. The touch buttons are easily touched when you don't want to change the settings too I have found.
If the load is not balanced it will take off like a kangaroo on an energy drink! This is because unlike your washing machine, the spin dryer does not have a concrete slab in it to hold it in place. Be prepared to immediately stop the machine and reload. I have had this experience several times and it is quite energetic to say the least.
If the load is balanced it will wobble a little as it starts going and also as it stops, but in between it will stay put and cause no concerns although I would not leave it unsupervised. With a little practice I have experienced this more than the hyperactive kangaroo scenario.
The water drains through a gravity fed pipe which is clipped to the external side of the machine. This is best fed straight into a drain. Since it's 2024 not many of us have a drain in our kitchen or utility room. I have a Belfast sink and was using it in there, but was worried the instability may damage the enamel, so moved it to my porch to drain out the door. Alternatively I've used a bucket, but this involves holding the bucket on an angle as the pipe is gravity fed and therefore the bucket has to be lower than the pipe. I have no concept if the water can be left to gather in the machine and then be emptied at the end, because the instructions do not say anything useful on the subject.
The machine is quite noisy, but so is the spin cycle on my washing machine, so it's to be expected and unlike the spin cycle on my washing machine this only lasts 5 mins.
Once loaded correctly and set away the water is ejected through the pipe to the drain/bucket and this is when you can see the clear purpose of this machine, because quite a lot of water is quickly ejected. The claim is it removes 95% of water. Well again it's about balance, so some things (usually lightweight things like a school shirt) come out nearly dry (I don't know the percentage, but they then dry on a clothes horse overnight), and other heavier things like jeans still seem quite wet (but much improved from before they went in).
I avoid using my tumble dryer since the energy prices shot up and use a clothes horse/airer. I usually get a load dry in 2-3 days, but this has reduced that to 1-2 days, so there's an obvious improvement.
If you have space for it. If you do not mind faffing about finding the balance. If you can see the funny side when it takes off because you haven't got the balance right and if you have the physical strength to restrain it while you hit the off button then maybe consider this.
It's noisy, it vibrates a lot even when balanced, it's bulky with no handles, but it does remove water.
It costs £149.99 and it alleges it only costs 7p an hour to operate. I find I'm making 2 loads from every washing machine load, so I'm running it for 10 minutes only which is just over a penny.
Honestly I can't decide whether it's the best thing since sliced bread or not, but I've used it on bedding, towel, door mats, jeans, uniforms, t-shirts, jumpers and so on. All have come out dryer and all have come out intact.
