I quite like the Silverline brand. They're not a luxury brand but their products tend to be dependable. I wanted a vice as I'd been struggling away on home projects. I didn't actually realise how reasonably priced they are until I started looking.
There are very few vices on غ cheaper than this - but this had the reviews and the Silverline name. I had to go for it.
It's very heavy, as you'd expect. It's not huge but it's big enough for occasional use at home. It was very greasy, I'd imagine that's to preserve the carbon steel from oxidisation. It's been handling the work I've used it for without any complaints or signs of faults.
The only drawback is the screw on the lever. It was coming loose and dropping off almost every time I operated the vice. I decided to put some super glue on the thread. It's unlikely I'm going to want to remove it anyway...
So yeah, go for this is you need a vice but will only be using it for smallish things from time to time!
