The Singles charts Collins’ entire solo career from his smash hit 1981 debut ‘In The Air Tonight’ to the title track from his most recent studio album, 2010’s ‘Going Back’. It encompasses three UK #1s (‘You Can’t Hurry Love’, ‘Easy Lover’ with Philip Bailey, and ‘A Groovy Kind of Love’) plus a further nine Top 10 hits (‘In The Air Tonight’; ‘Against All Odds (Take A Look At Me Now)’; ‘One More Night’; ‘Separate Lives’; ‘Two Hearts’; ‘Another Day In Paradise’; ‘I Wish It Would Rain Down’; ‘Both Sides of the Story’; and ‘Dance Into The Light’).

It also includes numerous other highlights from his story so far, such as his first Grammy-nominated single ‘I Don’t Care Anymore’; ‘You’ll Be In My Heart’ which won an Oscar for Best Original Song after featuring in the Disney film ‘Tarzan’; and numerous songs which became staples of his live shows including ‘Sussudio’, ‘Don’t Lose My Number’ and ‘Something Happened On The Way To Heaven’.

‘The Singles’ coincides with the release of Phil Collins’ long-awaited autobiography ‘Not Dead Yet: The Autobiography’. Set to be published by Penguin Random House this is the rollercoaster journey from his beginnings as a child actor to his domination of the charts both as a solo artist and part of Genesis.

    A review of the 3cd set...

    If you're pondering on whether to buy the two or three disc iteration of PC's singles collection let me try and help you decide. The three disc set (which is apparently the deluxe edition even though it's packaged inside a plastic "fat box") is chronologically sequenced. The two disc is more like a random playlist of the best bits from the three disc set and is packaged in one of those thin 2cd plastic cases. Both of these packages tend to break either in transit or over time however I believe the fat box to be a bit more sturdy.

    If you were collecting the Phil Collins Deluxe Edition reissue series of his studio albums you would know they were nicely presented in digipaks. This same format would've been appreciated for the three disc "deluxe" edition of Singles just to set it apart from the standard two disc but it is what it is. The music (which is what we're really here for right?) has been superbly remastered by Nick Davis and the results are aurally astounding.

    Buy the three disc set for a trip through the years with Phil Collins and if you prefer the shorter two disc version for your portable listening you can make a playlist of it from the deluxe set. Anyway that decision is up to you now. The music sounds amazing.

    I don't usually review music because everyone's musical tastes are so different.

    However, this 2 CD set is amazing! It's a must-have for Phil Collins fans, or if you're not familiar with Phil Collins, buy it anyway! It will turn you into a fan.

    I found a couple songs on it that I used to love, love, love, but had forgotten about! "Do You Remember" is one of those. Brings back fond memories. Playing on a loop over and over. I like the fact that one CD is the slower, softer songs and the other is the more fast, upbeat songs. Who doesn't like Easy Lover???

    Anyway, the sound is good, no skips, etc. Very happy. Driving the dog crazy with my off-pitch singing...

    My only annoyance is the plastic CD holder was cracked in the corner and fell apart upon opening. I don't care because I plan to just put it in a soft case. Wont take stars off for that because the music is great.

    But it seems like just about every CD I order from ÍøÆغÚÁÏ has a cracked or damaged plastic cover/holder. Come on, what's up with that? Very annoying. I would never order a CD from ÍøÆغÚÁÏ as a gift, because even if it is a brand new CD, its almost guaranteed to arrive with some damage to the plastic case holder thing.
