Amazing sound quality
I have waited for a greatest hits vinyl by Sophie Ellis Bextor to be released and this vinyl doesn’t disappoint.The sound quality is brilliant and it’s a pink double vinyl which is a bonus, hopefully there will be a vinyl release for freedom of the night.It’s a gatefold sleeve, so there pictures to view, unfortunately there was no download card with it a advertised, but that doesn’t bother me as i’m more than happy with the vinyls.

    Although I was aware of Sophie from Murder On The Dancefloor and Groovejet, the rest of her catalogue was a bit of a mystery. Saw her performing True Faith (New Order) live and was blown away by her voice and her interpretation of the song. Can't stop playing the whole CD-Love it!!!!!!!!!!

    A project that evolved from Sophie's live lockdown gigs in her kitchen, this is just what we needed to lift the mood during this coronavirus pandemic. Disco-pop delights for our very Mixed Up World. Not everything is uptempo dancefloor material of course, there are a couple of ballads and acoustic numbers sprinkled in.

    Mastered at Abbey Road Studios, this collection is packed with 20 tracks including most of her hits, her new song Crying At The Discotheque (a cover of Alcazar's hit which was in turn based on Sheila & B. Devotion's disco classic Spacer) and her excellent BBC session recording of New Order's True Faith.

    Groovejet (the Spiller track on which she added vocals for its commercial release) is a 2020 version faithfully re-created by F9 (half of the remix duo Freemasons) and is exactly like the version we all love. Presumably there were issues in licensing the original recording?

    Everything sounds great and just like I remember, though I prefer the dancier F9 mixes of Come With Us to the original album version included here.

    It's a shame her kitchen disco covers of Kids In America and Don't Leave Me This Way aren't featured but there wasn't really room to fit them on - maybe we'll get a Volume 2? Keep the disco going, Sophie!

    What can I say? The music is just as colourful as the album artwork. Disco is happy music, unforgettable beats, strings and a chorus. Sophie Ellis-Bextor ticks ALL those boxes.

    And i WILL be playing this tonight to see in 2021!!!!!! 77 minutes costing me a couple of quid (I had some left on a gift card) and it's money well spent!!!!! 😁😊😁😊😁

    If you like "Murder on the Dancefloor", you'll probably enjoy Ellis-Bextor's hits collection. I skimmed through her stuff on youtube and definitely liked what I heard. The album has 20 tracks and I enjoy nearly all of them. It's just a fun listen, very upbeat. I wish she'd had some success in the U.S. prior to 2024! American radio could have used some songs like these from 2001 to 2021.

    Disc was sealed and brand new, arrived much faster than indicated online. Great seller - thank you!

    A pretty good collection for this fairly unknown singer (at least in Canada and the U.S. ). A few of her latest hits missing but good overall. It amazes me why she never had any coverage or hits here. Get this CD and check out youtube. You will be amazed.
