I got this for general use around the garden, although it's first job has been to dig out holes for new fence posts. My house is over 120 years old, so there have been a lot of posts put in over the years and you can hit concrete or hidden rocks at any time. The spade has no issues with them, it just takes the vibrations in its stride (PS I have broken lots of spades and forks in this garden over the years).

I've really pleased with it and happy to recommend.
