I bought this for winter as I know I would be quite cold when going out, it certainly helped to keep me warm.

I had a little fire and it kept me nice and toasty, reflecting alot of the heat and acting as a chimney to funnel smoke away from me, however I did find it created some wicked fire tornadoes, this was mostly my own fault as the ground was uneven.

It's surprising sturdy as I expected it to be blown over by the wind, I'd recommend burrying it slightly with a rubber mallet on soft ground.

Overall highly recommend for anyone who camps or just wants to get extra heat from a fire!

However I found this, it's the right length to wrap around the Cadac Chef,. The right height, just above the casserole handles if the casserole cover is used as a lid.

The downside is that being sheet steel, it is heavy than you might expect. That said I am sure it will be still acting as a shield, long past the time the aluminium shield would have blown away.

The bottom of the shield is castellated which is useful as the gas hose is fractionly smaller in diameter, so the shield does not rock on the hose.

I used a couple of bar magnets to hold the ends of the shield together. Just pull a part, adjust the gas, or cooking, and close up again.

when it arrived the first thing i noticed is the weight, this is a heavy product and i was pleasantly surprised by this.
The wind is extremely unlikely to blow this about, there is also a good (adjustable) length so will be able to surround the portable cooker/fire and being galvanised will last a long long while.
Comes in a small carry bag to keep it all tidy.
For the price i highly recommend
