I have used a number of inflatables. Some better than others but they all inlays to a flat shape, meaning I have to have them fully inflated so they are hard. This is the first one I've used, which inflates high enough that I can deflate it a little and enjoy a softer pillow. It makes a huge difference to overall comfort. As to that the wedge shape for neck support and the super soft cover and it's clear they had a different set of priorities when designing this product. For comfort, it's in a class of its own.
Packed down, it is slightly larger than some other pillows but not enough to be impractical.
The valve is also worth mentioning as its the first one piece valve (I've had other pillows with the same valve) which can be locked open to allow the bladder to breathe, preventing mould from growing inside after long periods of non use as well as making packing much easier. There ae other valves which look the same but don't work like this brand.
