Stylish Danish style and practical DAB radio come together to make the Tangent Tuner II the perfect addition to your Hi-Fi system.

DAB and FM
With DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) you get a whole new world of stations. With popular digital stations like BBC 6 Music and 4 Extra, there is a much wider selection of stations to listen to. Analog FM is also standard and ideal for local stations or parts of the country where DAB reception is less accessible. RDS gives FM radio some of the features of DAB, including station names and radio text.

Compact size
Narrower than most Hi-Fi dividers, the compact Tangent Tuner II fits into tighter spaces. The matching CD player and amplifier form a tidy system that has the convenience of a mini system with the sound quality of separate.

System Remote Control
The supplied remote control not only operates the tuner, but also controls a complete Tangent system, including amplifier and CD player, making the Tangent complete system as convenient as an all-in-one system.

Fully equipped
With an optical digital output, the Tuner II is ideal for use with an updated DAC (Digital to Analog Converter) or Digital Amplifier. Six presets are easily accessible via the remote control and give direct access to your favorite radio stations.

The media could not be loaded.

Connected to a loft DAB aerial it works just fine, 129 stations found and a good 80% are strong enough not to pop and fizz (DAB channels) FM signals in my area are strong, so with the loft aerial being technically not trimmed for FM frequencies some attention of the signal is taking place, but most stations are showing at 100% signal strength. Remote is a bit odd as it’s for the entire range, so some buttons, like CD have no feature on this unit, but it’s fine, as long as you press the correct button. Without a good aerial this unit would struggle I’d think, the little wire effort in the box, when used, for research, found 14 stations and they broke up from time to time, so a loft, outside or high up aerial I’d say is a must. Sound quality is good, the unit I feel can manage better than it is ever present with by the DAB stations offered, I say this as the FM side sounds a little better, than the DAB equivalent, but I’m not getting into that rabbit hole. All in all a solid, well built little unit.

There are surprising few Hifi Tuners about today than the start of decade never mind the 70's and 80's hifi heyday posssibly with less interest in hifi and what there is tends to be vinyl or cd based for physical sources to which some might add streaming.

For some of us we don't want a playlist but personal selections and interaction with the spoken word where radio still rules even in an era of podcasts.

That's where this neatly slots in for being a small form hifi component that you just attach a decent antenna and rca leads to the radio or aux input and upon switching on it'll tune in the DAB stations while you can manually tune and add presets to the VHF/FM.

That's the other thing that's change - next to no exclusive Medium Wave or Long Wave programming today and many stations being on DAB instead - which for a small amount of money this gives you full access to being DAB+ compatible.

You still have very good traditional FM for hardcore audiophiles with RDS information but those extra stations like BBC Six Live are all present in dab where you want more choice and the dab side does sound very good although it is broadcaster dependant.

There is a Optical digital output you can run into an external digital to analogue convertor for potentially better dab sound (I'd recommend a QED performance optical cable if you do).

For what little you can get this for around £140+ this is a bargain window on the broadcast world.

Highly recommended.

Good tuner but shame about DAB itself, had I done my homework I would not have bothered. BBC stations are fine, decent bit rate and decent quality. But nearly everything else is poor bit rate and in mono "for god sake is this the 1960s?" with signal strength, I had to put an aerial on the roof and fit a signal booster to get half decent reception. So basically a step backwards from FM in reliability and sound quality.

Je l’ai associé à un excellent ampli home cinéma Marantz et des enceintes Bowers & Wilkins 800 Series Diamond.
