As a dedicated tea drinker (honestly, my teeth aren't all that bad), I'm a long-time user of the whitening strips. I usually buy a brand which has a variant called Supreme Professional (highest strength). But, peroxide whitening is said to be detrimental to tooth enamel and can cause irritation.
These strips have a newer ingredient called PAP - Phthalimidoperoxycaproic acid. This still has an active whitening agent but avoids the potential downsides of HP.
The pack itself comes with a clear plastic 'mouth opener', a teeth shade guide (handy to chart your progress), instructions and the individually foil packed strips (each pack two strips for top and bottom teeth).
I find the mouth opener is useful for helping with application, but as I tend to drool when using whitening products, I take it off once the strips are applied.
The steps are: 1) Dry your teeth 2) Peel off the strips 3) Use the longer strips for the top row; the shorter strips are for the bottom row 4) Keep strips on teeth for 30-60 minutes 5) Remove the strips and discard - rinse away remaining gel
This brand has 'papery' strips rather than the plastic the ones I usually use has. This material (imo) makes it a bit more finnicky to place and tuck behind your teeth but clenching the top and bottom row together (gently) helps keep the white strips in place.
Personally I keep mine in for 30 minutes (comparable to the big name brand).
I'd say there is more subtle whitening with these, but the upside is you're avoiding the negative side effects. After three days' use, the difference is more noticeable.
Pleasantly surprised! Top tip: Use your whitening strips in the shower so that you're busy doing other things and don't notice time passing quite so much!
