I was looking for a fairly cheap way of being able to connect my PC to a second monitor. My PC is fairly old and it doesn't have any USB-C ports, it only has a total of 3 USB-A ports - one on the front and two on the back. For connectivity to your monitor it only has a single HDMI port.
I do actually have a USB-C to HDMI cable for my laptop as the USB-C port supports DP ALT mode so that solution works great with my laptop. However, my PC doesn't have any USB-C ports and no DisplayPort either so that cable can't be used in this scenario unfortunately. This is why I was so glad to see this cable, and also see that the price was about half of what the cable for my laptop cost me. The reason why they have managed to keep the cost down is most likely to do with the fact that they don't have any support for the Apple MAC. This cable will only work on a Windows PC, but it does give you the ability to either mirror your screen AND the ability to extend your screen so that the two monitors appear and work as if they were one larger monitor.
I know that this doesn't have support for the Apple MAC, but the reason why I'm not marking it down on that is because the price reflects it's limitations. If I got something that supported both MAC and Windows then it would have cost me around about £15, and I would have bee paying for functionality that I really didn't need so I'm glad that the adapter only supports Windows as I didn't have to waste money on a feature that I would never use, and that is why I have given it the full 5 stars that it deserves - which are for the features that it does offer and it's good quality build and easy of setup and use.
