The roof area of a vehicle can be a harsh environment with salt, dust, rain and road dirt.
Keep your Easy-Clamp threads lubricated with Grease or Heavy Oil.
Cleaning with WD40 or other maintenance sprays will remove the grease, dry-out the threads and cause the threads to wear. Always fully re-grease afterwards.
