One thing to beware of: I carried the pot with me on a bike tour when it split and curdled on a particularly hot day (30+). Even when I put it in the fridge it didn't return to it's former state, and I had to throw it away.

I have previously used a different cream, which was pretty good. As I was about to run out I looked on ��غ�� to replace it but couldn't find the brand I'd used before. I ordered the Velsokin even though I thought it was expensive and when it arrived I was very disappointed to see how small the tin is in comparison.
What a rip off, I thought. Still, I'd run out of my old cream and beggars can't be chosers, right ? When I put my fingers in the tin there was more disappointment - what is this hard, almost chalky stuff ? Again, it was all I had so the undercarriage got a smear and on to the Wattbike it was.
After a couple of weeks and about 8 - 10 rides it occurred to me that although I was mentally using the Veloskin as I'd paid for it and wasn't going to waste it, I'd had absolutely no chafing or discomfort at all since that first application.
Nothing.
After a few months, I was less than half way down the tin. Still no chafing or discomfort at all.
The original tin is almost empty. I bought another one. I don't intend to change to anyting else as long as my legs can turn.
Recommended.

OK, this stuff I like, I like it a lot actually.

Being an old skool cyclist I've used a fair few chamois creams in my time and my absolute favourite from years past has always been the Assos brand. I would still consider the Assos cream in a pinch but the VeloSkin cream in my honest opinion is much better.

With the cream being more solid in consistency, the absorption rate is lower which means the cream stays as a cream and therefore a barrier for much longer than some of its rivals. My method is to "load" the pad with cream and then apply a thinner layer to the actual skin area that makes contact with the saddle. The sit bones are one key area that gets a good coating along with a couple of softer areas that are prone to getting sore.

If you're a cyclist that moves around a lot of the saddle, constantly out of the saddle (grinding hills) or just a fidget, you may need to apply more cream than most as the contact points on the saddle will be multiple. If you're a triathlete or time trials; one that sits in an aero-tuck for prolonged periods, you may find the area that needs coating is localised.

If you're looking to use this cream for anything other than cycling, I would say look at other products as the tub size is quite small and some might say, for volume received, the cream is expensive. I would however say, if I needed to use one cream that works (for cycling), and works well; one that I could guarantee would work, the VeloSkin Chamois Cream for Cyclists would be the one I would choose.

To summarise, great product, a little on the expensive side; not for daily usage (due to cost per ml) and will most certainly be purchasing more in the future.
