How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on ÍøÆغÚÁÏ. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 November 2021Not what I expected. I thought Cream were into longer tracks from what I’d heard before. These are mostly 3-5min long. Still, i enjoy everyone and it’s a very good introduction to one of the all time great bands.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 March 2004It's always a matter of contention when trying to determine which band had the biggest influence on creating a genre, but I think it's safe to say that Cream were in the forefront of creating the genre of heavy rock.
They were one of the world's first 'supergroups' (The Beatles probably qualify as the first, but they didn't ever play the concert circuit like Cream did). All three were masters at what they did (you have to ignore Ginger Baker's notorious lapses in keeping time as he was a damn good drummer otherwise), and live tracks like 'Crossroads' showcase this.
Amazingly, they also had a pretty successful career as a singles band too. Most bands are either gig/album bands, or singles bands, but they managed both by writing good rock music with catchy riffs. Just listen to the vocal interplay on 'I Feel Free', or the slightly funky 'Strange Brew', both of which were successful singles.
A great band who probably made a good decision to split when they did, and leave us with an unblemished legacy of songs.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 September 2011During the short time they were together, July 1966 to November 1968, Cream (if my counting is correct) made 36 studio recordings, starting from their first session which included "Wrapping Paper", to their final session which included "Badge" (featuring George Harrison, who co-wrote the song, on rhythm guitar). This cd issued in 2006 contains the best 19 of these studio recordings plus the "live" recording "Crossroads", all remastered and in chronological order. All 3 members of Cream contributed to the song writing, Jack Bruce being the most prolific, followed by Eric Clapton. Only 5 tracks on this cd were not written or co-written by one of the three. The accompanying informative 12 page booklet is the final reason for me to recommend this cd to any Cream fans who have not already got these tracks, and to all would-be fans.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 November 2013AN EXCELLENT REMASTERED STEREO COMPILATION of all their most famous tracks. If you want just one CD to represent Cream, then look no further as this is the best currently available. Sound quality for "pop" music (as opposed to classical/jazz) of this period is very good indeed, the fact it's stereo is unusual as much music from this period is just mono. I am not going to go into any raptures about the greatness of Cream, other reviewers have done that very well. My only criticism is my CD is ultra slimline with no room for a booklet, that apart, thoroughly recommended.
PS The earlier 1995 issue, which ironically is still available new, is in a proper jewel case with decent 12 page notes, it is the same remaster as the later digipack issue, from original master tapes using 20 bit ADC and UV22 super CD encoding.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 July 2023Classic after Classic, the best compilation on this great sixties super group.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 February 2014A highly entertaining 20 track collection covering Cream's all too brief tenure (1966-68) as the most soulful hard-rocking bluesmen of their era. 5 tracks are selected from their classic 1967 release 'Disraeli Gears' and 7 tracks from the follow-up 'Wheels Of Fire' (1968) and the brilliant riffs just keep coming. 'Sunshine Of Your Love', 'White Room', 'Politician' and the punchy Eric Clapton/George Harrison single 'Badge' are just 4 of the excellent songs featured but, to be honest, the vast majority of this album is gorgeous. Buy this, settle back and turn the volume up to 11!!
