Theis is an odd set, which comes in 2 separate boxes, as if you have ordered 2, but as the descriptions states, this is a set and there is only one thermometer, but this is to be expects as you are meant to use them on one fire, and would only need one thermometer.
They are small and not as high end as others I have tried, but they do direct the heat and having each facing in different directions is a good idea. Over all they do the job intended and I do think 2 facing different ways increases the flow of heat.
