Each small sized capsule provides 200mg of CoQ10. With a daily serving of two capsules providing 400mg.

Basically these are the same capsules found in their 200mg bottle which I have previously reviewed. Here they are marketed and sold as a 400mg product, by doubling up the daily dose. Which there is nothing wrong with. Simply buy whichever bottle works out at the better value for money at the time of making a purchase.

These are small capsules making it easy to consume the daily dose.

Ordered and received during November 2024. There is a Lot number and an expiry date of 02/2026 on the base of the bottle.

Arrived safety sealed for peace of mind.

No adverse side effects experienced.

Googling, I find the recommendation to take a CoQ10 supplement if one is taking a statin or beta blocker or is over 65, as all these can radically deplete the amount of this important antioxidant in our bodies. Even GPs often give this advice to their patients. As I am currently 82yo, I have for some time taken this counsel to heart. (Appropriately, as CoQ10 is often represented as helpful for heart problems. It may also help lower blood glucose and have many other desirable effects, which have however only been demonstrated in rats.)

We can access CoQ10 through our diet, but even if we eat organ meats every day, the amount taken in will be tiny compared to taking a supplement.

I have already criticised so many supplement sellers' ads for their dishonest headlines. This is another. Even one of the earlier favourable reviewers has been misled into thinking they are getting 400mg CoQ10 per capsule. NO! - if you want to take 400mg daily you must double the dose to 2 capsules and, of course, in a stroke double the asking price. The current price of £13.99 for a 60 day supply is not unreasonable, so why not be more upfront about it?

I read that CoQ10 is fat soluble, so should be taken with a fatty meal to help absorption. Some CoQ10 supplement sellers include eg sunflower oil in their capsules to this end. If you take a high dose vitamin D supplement you may like to take your CoQ10 at a different meal, though the studies here seem not to agree with each other.

I am keen not to swallow unnecessary extra ingredients along with my desired supplement. Here, the only extra substance acknowledged is the hypromellose forming the capsule. If this is true, great! But is it true? On ��غ�� ads I see stainless steel represented as sterling silver, synthetic fabrics as cotton or linen. I do wonder/worry about the honesty of supplements ads, particularly when they tell me what I want to hear! However, I keep on swallowing the pills and hoping for the best.
