As an amateur it took just two pizzas to get the hang of temperature/peel/filling-amount to get to pizza-heaven. Secret seems to be 1) get it hotter than your wife 2) slam the pizza in and turn temp down. 3) turn it. Turn that baby like it’s a rotisserie chicken. Oh and don’t go all the way in, foreplay only.
Semolina is the key to avoiding sticking (said no one), more is better.

This pizza grill has potential, but is let down by the total absence of proper usage instructions. The grill itself is solid and well finished, and arrives ready assembled apart from inserting the pizza stone. Connecting to the gas was pretty easy (you will need a screwdriver to tighten the jubilee clip) once we had lubricated the connector enough with washing-up liquid and softened the end of the pipe in boiling water.

Lighting takes a little practice as not enough gas flows before the ignition spark so we found we have to let it fail, let the gas run a bit, turn it off and then immediately on again. DO NOT look inside while you do this, if there's too much gas there will be a blast that will burn your hair!

There are absolutely no useful usage instructions, nor a sample dough recipe. This is a serious omission as you will find it is dead easy to make the dough too sticky which will make it stick to the stone. To avoid this, knead really well and coat with flour well - we actually dip the base in semolina before it goes on the grill to avoid it sticking. Also make sure you turn the pizza to avoid the edges burning. We now heat the oven up as far as we can to get the stone super hot, then turn down to minimum (the heat gets less the further you turn the gas knob).

There is no peel supplied (a major omission) so you will need to buy one, putting pizza in and out is too hard without. We find the oven slips across our table each time we access the pizza as you have to push the peel right to the back to get it. The oven can thus fall off if you don't notice, so maybe put a brick behind the back leg. The carry case is actually a rain cover with handles and two straps under the grill. It is immensely heavy to carry but the straps on the cover do make it possible.

Overall we feel this is a decent choice for a pizza oven and we will use it a lot over the summer, but we do feel the lack of usage instructions and the lack of a peel need considering if you buy it.

The first pizzas turned out great, and I can't wait to get more practice in.

Assembly and Setup
Setting up the oven was straightforward. The grill is solid and well-finished, and it arrives mostly assembled—just insert the pizza stone. Connecting to the gas was relatively simple; I used a screwdriver to tighten the jubilee clip after lubricating the connector with washing-up liquid and softening the pipe end in boiling water.

Usage and Performance
Lighting the oven required a bit of practice. Initially, the gas flow was insufficient before the ignition spark, so we had to let it fail, run the gas a bit, turn it off, and then immediately on again. Important Safety Tip: Do not look inside while doing this, as an excess of gas can cause a small explosion.

Cooking Tips
The lack of detailed usage instructions and a sample dough recipe was a notable drawback. However, through trial and error, we found that kneading the dough well and coating it with flour or dipping the base in semolina prevents it from sticking to the stone. Preheating the oven to the maximum temperature to heat the stone thoroughly, then turning it down to the minimum, worked best for us. Additionally, turning the pizza regularly helps avoid burning the edges.

Accessories
A significant omission is the absence of a pizza peel, making it challenging to place and remove pizzas from the oven. I recommend purchasing a peel separately. The oven tends to slip across the table when accessing the pizza, so placing a brick behind the back leg can prevent it from falling off. The included carry case, which doubles as a rain cover, is quite handy, though the oven is heavy to carry even with the straps.

Overall Impression
Despite a few minor issues, such as the lack of a peel and proper instructions, this pizza oven is a solid choice. It’s easy to use once you get the hang of it, and it produces excellent results. The build quality is impressive, and it's portable enough to use in various settings. With some additional purchases and a bit of practice, this oven can deliver delightful pizzas throughout the summer.

I highly recommend this pizza oven.

I have always wanted a pizza oven and this one looks a good size, and although slightly on the heavy side it is portable with folding legs and a carry bag is provided. A gas regulator and pipe connection is provided together with a ceramic stone which fits inside the oven.

The only thing needed to get started, apart from the ingredients, is a propane gas cylinder which we do not currently have. According to the instruction leaflet which is multilingual but quite informative, the recommended size to use is either an 11kg or 15kg, but having read about these types of portable ovens, the estimated gas consumption while cooking is in the region of 300 to 400 g per hour. So unless pizza making is going to be a very regular activity I think their recommended gas cylinder sizes are perhaps a bit over the top, and perhaps a smaller one would be more appropriate assuming the regulator would fit since it is a quick connect type. Enquiring at our local hardware shop a 6kg one would probably work out at around £70 or so since we do not have a cylinder to exchange.

I do look forward to using it though once the weather improves, and compared to many of this oven size on the market, it does look quite good value for money.
