Bought this great little oven as my oven in the house is too slow and doesn't get hot enough.
It was good value for money easy to assemble and looks great.
Remember to order wood pellets.
I did try using fire lighters the eco friendly ones but it took too long to get the pellets burning. Resorted to a blow torch which got the pellets burning quickly.
I made pizza bases from scratch and tried 2 methods.
1. Was to part bake the bases then add toppings and put in the oven.
2 I left the dough raw then put on toppings then tried to put in the oven. A couple stuck to the pizza peel and kindling of crumple making a bit of mess.

So I think my preferred method will be to part back the bases on a pizza stone first for 4 minutes just untill it's got a dryish base that way it will slide into the oven without fuss or drama.

Once it's up to temperature it cools quickly. Maybe turn it after about 2 or 3 minutes.

First pizzas were really tasty and was a good laugh.

Would definitely recommend it

Just thought I’d add my opinion on the VonHaus pizza oven. Reading some of the reviews I was sceptical. Issues with pizza stone broken and more importantly the oven door not fitting. When my oven arrived the box was slightly damaged in the corner. On opening a piece of the polystyrene packing was also broken. Lifting the oven out it didn’t immediately look damaged so I continued to build it up. Trying to get the oven door open (to get to the other parts) was troublesome as it was stiff. Once I built everything and screwed on the oven door it was apparent the door was very stiff and needed you to hold the oven to insert it. Fine when cold but not when hot! Checking closely it became obvious the oven had taken a hit and distorted the opening. A quick email to Von Haus and they were sending the courier to collect it. Once they received it they sent me a replacement next day. Great Comms and service from them.

You will need a kitchen blowtorch to get the pellets started and to reignite them if they go out. You do need to regularly top up the pellets in a drop feed fashion (so as not to extinguish the flame).

The oven takes around 15-20 minutes to get up to temperature. You will need an infra red thermometer to check the temperature. You need the pizza stone to be at around 400deg C.

My first attempt at a pizza was hectic, you need to be ready as the oven cooks very fast. Around 2minutes for an 6inch pizza.

My method was to roll out the dough, spread the pizza sauce and then to the oven. This cooks the dough and readies it for the toppings.

Place on your toppings and back to the oven.

Overall, a great oven and looking forward to trying other recipes, prawns in garlic, steak etc

Very easy to ignite and came up to temperature quite quickly. Wood pellets need topping up faster than I expected. Family loved my first attempt at garlic bread pizza to go with spag bols.
Only negative is that the door is not a good fit…had to put in on loosely with a risk of it falling off and possibly causing damage, or banged in tight, running risk of damage trying to get it off again-could do with addressing this vonhausen.
