This Buddha fountain needs the pump and light connecting underneath before use, although the instructions are a little vague. For the pump it’s fairly obvious which tube it needs attaching to, below the Buddha. However, the light is supposed to be pushed into a clear plastic tube below the bottom water bowl, but there is no tube, just a hole. So, in the end I’ve put it directly into the hole, where it seems to stay in place all right.
There isn’t an on switch, so it just needs switching on at the socket. The light slowly changes colour although it would have been a nice option to be able to choose one colour. It looks lovely when it’s lit up though. The water pump has different options of speed for pumping the water. It sounds quite noisy when it’s on the highest speed, and the water trickles faster. I prefer it when it’s on very low, so the water gently trickles. It chugs a bit at first, until the water is running through smoothly and the bowls are all full, then it settles down to a steady trickle.
One small problem is getting the water tube to stay in place in the pump, as there is no surplus length to allow for movement. If the top of the fountain unit is moved or lifted up slightly, the tube tends to fall out, and needs fitting back into place.
Overall, it’s a pretty water fountain, with a lovely relaxing water and light effect, but it’s a bit fiddly to set up and running properly.
